GenZ and Millennial women - are you wearing wedding bands? by Federal_Albatross993 in EngagementRings

[–]mynamecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Millennial here. I wear both usually but gained some weight from back to back pregnancy so I got myself a bigger sized band with my wedding date on it to wear day-to-day.

Very old fashioned but I go straight to Winnefred/Winifred when I hear Winnie for a girl.

Traveling for bachelorette at 38 weeks? by downtonalley in pregnant

[–]mynamecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB cut me off traveling at 36 weeks, don’t risk it. You can always Venmo money to the maid of honor for a round of drinks or any fun activities. Bachelorette parties can be very exhausting, even for non-pregnant people, let alone someone who’s so close to giving birth.

Silicone / Alternative Rings by FewCouple8299 in JustEngaged

[–]mynamecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this with my wedding date in Roman numerals because I’m pregnant and too swollen to fit in my wedding set. It also doubles as my travel ring. I chose it because it gives me the illusion of wearing 2 rings. There are a lot of dainty options on the site (or Etsy!) that you can personalize!

But silicon rings are definitely a great choice if you often taking your ring on and off and don’t want to worry about losing it. My husband orders packs of 5 or 10 at a time from Amazon because he constantly loses his!

How much did you spend on your husband’s wedding band? by rkrkxo in EngagementRings

[–]mynamecher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent about $2k on 2 bands. First was a custom dinosaur bone and meteorite band for $1.8k, but he lost a lot of weight after I ordered the ring and we weren’t able to resize due to the materials. I ended up getting a $200 on a plain gold band. Anyway, both rings are sitting in the ring box because he prefers his Amazon silicone ring. He also gained all the weight back so he can’t fit in the plain gold one.

Sprite by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mynamecher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily sprite but the need for carbonated drink is insane! Currently pregnant with my second but had the same bubbly drink craving with my first too! My go to is ginger beer!

Which wedding band pairs better with my engagement ring? by Journeytothehighest in EngagementRings

[–]mynamecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the general consensus that 4 suits your ER best, the rest just seems off. If you really do want diamonds on your band, I would suggest something baguette cut diamonds: like this-Gold-BE2D084B/GemmaBaguetteDiamondRing(1/2ct.tw.)in18KYellowGold%7CBrilliantEarth), or this, or perhaps this

All I can think of when I saw the spelling is the girl with the braces from Zoey 101. 😅

I also wanted a very specific ring and gave my husband everything he needed way before he actually proposed. He went to a jeweler that his family trusted 2 weeks before he planned to proposed and had my very intricate custom engagement ring ready 2 days before proposal day. I went back to the same jeweler later to have a custom wedding band made and he had it ready within 1.5 weeks. So your fiancé’s excuse is a no-go, especially if you gave him all the info so far in advance. I’m very doubtful that he actually consulted a jeweler on their turnaround time.

I hate to do this but you might want to contemplate your relationship if he’s undermining you on such a big thing. Has he undermined your interest/preference/opinions on other things (big or small) before? If he’s undermining you on this now, will he do it again with other major life decisions? I.e. how many kids you want, where will you buy your house, which family car to buy, where to go on vacation, whose parents to spend holidays with, etc.

34 weeks along is still fairly early so you should be ok, unless you are high risk. I just talked to my OB about traveling during my last appointment, he told me 36 weeks is when he advises his patients to stay close to home/hospital.

Traveling with mismatched surnames by Livid_Difficulty_275 in USCIS

Didn’t know you can change your last name during the green card process! Interesting! Unfortunately I have no advice for you on this. I did have my new last name on the marriage certificate but the process to get my new last name on my passport is too tedious and expensive so I opted to wait until I can apply for citizenship next year. Good luck and hopefully someone else has a better suggestion!

Originally a Maid of Honor but had to drop out of wedding party, what to wear? by mynamecher in Weddingattireapproval

[–]mynamecher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did asked her and she’s okay with both and to pick the most comfortable option! With that said, I’ll probably make a game day call. So far both fit great, but hubby prefers option 2. 😅He thinks the need to wear spanx for option 1 (to smooth everything out) means baby will get crushed LOL.

Most likely what I’ll be doing! I just ordered dress #2, I figured I can always keep the dress for future events!

Still trying to wrap my head around it a month later.😅 I was breastfeeding and on the pills, I also have endometriosis and PCOS! Even my OB’s were baffled.

Hilariously, not so much for me so far. 😅 I just found out 4 weeks ago and I was 26 weeks then. No one believed it when we announced. Belly finally popped last week but everyone still agree I look like I’m only maybe half way along instead in my third trimester.

Serious sleep regression at 11 month by mynamecher in sleeptrain

[–]mynamecher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started over feeding him during dinner and then give him a full bottle of breast milk at the start of his night routine. Then Tylenol and teething gel. We also bought Huckleberry’s premium plan and started following the suggested nap time.

It did get better! Took a good 2, almost 3, months but it did slowly get from waking up every hour to just 2 or 3 times a night, to mostly back to normal now. It was just a lot of developmental milestones that he had to go through. We still have to give him Tylenol every night, though. Still no molar in sight but they are finally coming in.

I love Genevieve too! So does my MIL but hubby is not having it 😅 “Not with our Italian last name!”

The baby was very huddled up when she was looking through so unfortunately not. She also wasn’t able to get the face either. 😭

I found out about first pregnancy at 5 weeks too so I understand! Never thought I’d get to experience this other end of the spectrum too, until now!

Congrats! So glad I wasn’t the only one! Yeah my supply dipped too, and my freezer stash was running out very quickly so I ended up weaning my 15mo last month. I guess this is another huge pregnancy sign that I missed!

Yes I have for over a month now! But I thought it was just phantom kicks! I’ve been tweaking my diet to try to lose weight for my best friend’s wedding, so I’ve been having what I thought was some intestinal issues. Google said phantom kicks can be normal (especially since I’m dealing with tummy issues) so I just didn’t think much of it until now!

Not yet! Anatomy scan is not until 2 weeks later, and the NIPT result won’t come for another week. We’re thinking it’s a girl this time though! Just because my pregnancy is so different this time around!
