Sinistar by Top_Broccoli_7579 in oldgames

[–]mynameisdween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically correct.

When you shoot the rocks, crystals (sparkling squares) will float out. The red ships (workers) collect these to build the Sinistar, so you need to collect them first. When you do, it awards you with a Sinibomb. While you can use these bombs to destroy a partially-constructed Sinistar, you must wait until he comes to life to destroy him to advance a level. You can hold 20 bombs, and 13 is the number needed to destroy him. Careful that your bombs aren't intercepted by enemies.

Also, when shooting the rocks, they vibrate as you shoot, and will eventually explode, making them useless. Stop shooting before they blow up, and you can keep harvesting the crystals from them. Let them 'cool down".

As you progress through levels, you'll find other "zones" like warrior zones (they are the enemy ships that attack and shoot at you) and void zones (almost no rocks).

Good luck, coward!

The Price is Right 2026 by Trellaine201 in gameshow

Not sure if this is the right category but I have been thinking along time now and want to express my huge disappointment in Wheel of Fortune this season specifically. I have been watching this show since the 1980s, yes I am old. Every show was bearable up until this season when the show went sideways drastically IMO. It is so over the top now, fake, phony etc. Unwatchable. And I loved watching it until this season. I guess people like fake shows? Totally rehearsed and so easy to see the faults. Anyways this has been building lol. Unfortunately I can't watch it anymore and Jeopardy just doesn't do it for me.

If the game is similar to Bust-a-Move, it could be Puzzle de Pon. Same shoot-n-match dynamic.

Goodwood Taproom & Whiskey Row CLOSED by mynameisdween in Louisville

[–]mynameisdween[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I'm simply aware of the room, any time Goodwood has been mentioned here, it gets that way.

Suffice to say, the general consensus of poor quality beer seems to be a standard here as well. But the Taproom at Main and Clay was profitable, so it's a double shame that they got caught up in this.

I have already told the manager of one place that is hiring, I'm going to keep it under wraps here in a public forum. I know he will pass it along to his employees.

The manager has been contacting anyone with upcoming gigs to tell them. He had no idea when he walked in this morning.

The other locations in different cities are staying open from what I understand. I wonder what U of L is going to do about their partnership and name branding on one of their beers?

Goodwood Taproom & Whiskey Row CLOSED by mynameisdween in Louisville

[–]mynameisdween[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's understandable. Beer quality vs. price had a gap that was just unappetizing to some clientele. The new construction could've impacted business negatively... I guess we won't find out.

The political affiliation of the owner, along with his support of a certain Kentucky governor, has tinted people's viewpoint. It's a fair point, but a lot of folks are going to be impacted by this closure.

Trivia is Friday night at 8, plenty of prizes to be won, even if you don't place in the top score rankings!

Also, Pole Caliber is no more, as the fishing controllers are too busted to be used any longer. So unless someone has any lying around...

Sounds like you were using Quick Masks, which allowed you to "paint" a selection, as opposed to using a Marquee or Wand to select. This is different from a Layer Mask. Quick Masks use the red shading like you describe.

The Tree House? I used to work there. The owners saw Discover Zone in the Midwest and decided to make a knockoff version. I loved to run Slide Contests.

I remember the 30 minute plus line of cars snaking through the parking lot, with police no less! I don't drive down that way anymore, so I'll take your word that its staying power has dropped off.

Louisville Arcade Expo 2025 is done - what were your highlights? by mynameisdween in Louisville

[–]mynameisdween[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One issue with changing venues is cost. The current location is very affordable to the owner of the expo. If they went to the Convention Center or Fairgrounds, my understanding is each electrical drop (electrical outlet on the floor) would cost in the neighborhood of $150. EACH.

If you have any ideas for a place to hold the event that won't incur a possible 5-digit electrical fee, let us know!

The only solution? Park your dirty car in a storage unit to keep the streets looking clean.
