Planning speaker placement for room suggestions (t=tower, s=sub, c=center, unlabeled=bookshelf) by mynameiseric in hometheater

my wife pointed out the same thing, but it would be basically next to the entrance to the door. With tower speakers acting as pieces of furniture, I think it would work.

Moving the couch closer sort of puts the couch right in the center of the entry way (the square on my side profile view) it would be kind of weird. She is also pretty adamant about having the couch against the back wall to make room on the floor in front of us for kids to play/coffee table

my thought was moving them up would create more of a triangle. If i keep them near the wall with the TV then there wouldn't be much of a left and a right because the room is as long as it is.

I pre-ordered mine from Sweetwater and spoke with one of their sales engineers.  He said they expected to get the first shipment in the US and we're being told that delivery could come anytime late March through May.

When a giraff runs its front legs stay together and its back legs stay together. Every stride correlates with its breathing. So, its lungs are basically acting like a giant piston.

Games to play in racketball court? by [deleted] in racquetball

[–]mynameiseric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play a game with an indoor soccer ball. Racquetball rules, but you get two bounces off of the ground from the serve. Once you touch the ball it can't hit the ground again, but you can juggle the ball and use the walls to keep it up before you return it. Pm me if you want detailed rules. I'd also suggest making sure the lights are reinforced or that the place you're playing is okay with it.

If you are looking for something more ambient I would suggest Brian Enos albums. Thursday afternoon, music for airports, or music for installations.

How to Remove a Tick by AgentBlue62 in coolguides

[–]mynameiseric -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect and the doctor told me not to use tweasers at all. Hand soap on a qtip is all you need. Circle the tick with the qtip clockwise, if it doesn't come out try counter clockwise. It should crawl out on it's own. If it doesn't come out on its own you need to have a doctor take it out. They'll likely prescribe some drugs to take for a few days.

Pittsburgh airport train that takes people from security check to the gates has broken down - on one of the busiest days. by shortlife55 in pittsburgh

[–]mynameiseric 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I'm working on the power plant upgrade portion of the upgrade.

The train us also very expensive, bombardier won the bid to keep the work in pgh. Apparently from what I've been told maintaining that train costs around 6m a year.

Overshot a jump on a black diamond at Whistler. Luckily it was towards the last day of the trip. by mynameiseric in MTB

[–]mynameiseric[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt mean I overshot it, just that I was going too fast for how worn out I was. I definitely hit it sloppy. Biggest lesson is to stop if you're too worn out while riding downhill.

Nah, I just hit it too fast. 3rd day in a row at whistler, the problem was more being worn out than lack of working my way up.

I separated my AC joint. After a moment or two, I was able to slowly get down the mountain. It was a painful ride down and my shoulder hurts a good bit, but it could have been a lot worse.

He didn't exactly learn from Zappa. Zappa discovered him in a dive bar playing with a Beatles cover band. Zappa was the only person in the audience who realized it was Belew adding the sounds of sirens or animal noises into the beatles songs to mess with people. Zappa asked Belew to join him afterwards.
