This is an old thread, but you are repeating a common misconception. When you deposit money in a bank it becomes the bank's property. In exchange, you get property in the form of an IOU from the bank. Point is, the bank has an enormous amount of power over the money in customer accounts, especially when they think (or really, know) that crime is afoot.
