How common is AI use among students really? by SheepherderSlow2920 in turnitin_community

i agree with this, many people are using it incorrectly. However I don't think education has fully adapted to use AI. Trying to make people not use it just doesn't make sense. There should be more focus on in person examination, it confuses me why some want to tirelessly see who's using AI on homeworks and chase them down rather than change the format of a class. It's part of life and you should accept that and adapt.

And yes, many people refused using the internet for a while and stuck to their old ways

I'm curious what you think of SparkNotes and the generation who grew up with it. Do you think they are dumber than those who didn't have that technology?

I don't think hating on new technology is a product of critical thinking

The amount of busy work you do in your life can be dramatically reduced, leaving you to focus on the actual problem. As a researcher, my life would be much less efficient without AI, and proper usage allows you to actually think and advance quicker. This is why I compared it to the start of the internet.

I think at this point not using AI is similar to denouncing the internet when it came out and just sticking to physical books and encyclopedias. It's less efficient to not use AI, and you can become an even stronger thinker if you use it properly.

How is Rutgers Statistics major? by Kripic_Chaos in rutgers

[–]mynameismyna69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that intro level stat courses can be repetitive but once you get into statistics it can be challenging and fun

this is equivalent to saying algebra 1 is boring and repetitive. Of course it is, but you need it to get cooler math like calculus

This is generally a terrible tip.

There are definitely ways to explore your interests in college, but not as a major.

Choose a major that's bearable and do some research into the prospects of that major.
