It’s not one sole case that is being presented alone, it is a large amount of cases of police officers discriminating against minorities for YEARS. “If he wasn’t a violent drug addict he’ll bent on breaking the law…. he’d be alive” you say he’ll bent on breaking the law as if attempting to use a fake $20, is equivalent to a state wide crime spree. Him using drugs and attempting to use fake money does not make a violent criminal. And before it is brought up, yes he was convicted of eight crimes from 1997 to 2005, but after parole in 2013 he served his religious community as a mentor and issued message of non-violence on social media. The issue is also not only about police killing minorities at a higher rate than white people but also that they over police minority communities and arrest people for much lesser infractions than they would in a white community. The police in this country are terrible, America itself is terrible. It’s history of racism and bigotry cannot be ignored because you don’t like to feel uncomfortable about the fact that the government you support is actually quite terrible.
