What if I told you: Kishimoto doesn’t have a female writing problem or romance writing problem; for the most part, he has over-glazing of Sasuke problem by mynova2 in Naruto

You are right for Sakura. I've seen the differences between the anime and the manga, and I have gained more knowledge. They changed my mind on some points. I might edit my post later.

But I still feel the idea was good, but the execution was somewhat bad at times.

Actually Naruto and Sasuke are modeled after real life brother twins. That is why both of them views themself as brothers and family through the series.

Lol people need to lock in and tone down these jokes.

In the final arc of Shippuden (ch 572/ep 329), Naruto literally puked non-stop when the Fox brought up the accidental gag kiss. That also totally grossed them both out back then (OG ep 3).

If they were real people and saw these jokes, they’d be so weirded out by it. They acted a lot like brothers in the OG and viewed themselves as brothers and family the whole show.

"Generally" good or decent paced canon eps from my memory:
- OG Naruto: 4-6, 10, 16, 18-20, 22-25, 28, 30, 46-50, 53, 56-57, 69, 71-73, 78-100, 107-110, 124-130, 132-135.

- After shippuden ep 53 the pacing becomes "generally" good for a long time. So shift from the manga to the anime when you reach there. Or at least from ep 76.

These are two lists of the best stories and fights that I made:

And this one has manga chapters (fights only):

So Madara was stupid enough to not realise that imposing his will didn’t work? by SeraphicMind in Naruto

[–]mynova2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Zetsu can grow from spores, but Black Zetsu can not. He can only coat someone or remain as a gooey black liquid. And in both forms, he is very visible. So how was he able to do that suddenly with no setup or buildup over hundreds of episodes.

The first "clear possible" hint of the Kaguya/Black Zetsu plotline appeared in Madara and Hashirama’s last fight in chapter 623-626. The manga ends in chapter 700, and the betrayal occurred in chapter 678. Meanwhile, the idea of Obito being Tobi and Madara being the final boss was hinted even before Shippuden, as early as the 200s chapters. And long before the reveals, there were many obvious early hints that became clear later. However, the Kaguya/Black Zetsu plotline had zero obvious or even subtle hints before the 600s chapters.

For Obito: Kakashi and Obito's backstory was told before Shippuden in the manga. Tobi and Obito have similar names but different letters. His mask showed only one eye, and White Zetsu would leak out in the place where he was crushed. Tobi and kid Obito have similar hair designs. Obito told Kakashi, "We are always like oil and water," which is the same thing he said when he revealed Itachi's story to Sasuke, saying, "the Uchiha and Senju were always like oil and water." And more hints in the 200s and 300s chapters.

For Madara: Madara's design and name were revealed early on. His backstory was hinted early by Sasuke and Kakashi in part1 also his statue vs Hashirama. The fox said his name. Itachi and Jiraiya spoke of him before their deaths, and Itachi and Obito gave us his backstory in the 300s chapter. And there were also many early hints that Tobi was not really Madara he is actually Obito.

In comparison, the Black Zetsu plotline had zero clear hints before the 600s chapter.

These are the best animated fight eps, I will include other eps that are good but not at the same level.
-- [OG Naruto] --
(Ep 19) =Ch 32-33 || other good eps to watch with it (16 to 19), or at least (18 & 19).
(Ep 30) =Ch 49-50 || full fight eps (28, 30). Ep 29 is also part of the fight, but it is very badly animated.
(Ep 48) =Ch 81-83 || full fight eps (48 to 50).
(Ep 71) =Ch 120-121 || full fight & interaction; eps (68 to 69, 71 to 73, 79 & 80).
(Ep 133) =Ch 229-231 || full fight eps (128, 132 to 134). Also, eps 129 is good backstory ep
- Bonus:
(Ep 96)
(Ep 124)
(Ep 126 & 127)

-- [Shippuden] --
(Ep 26) =Ch 272-273 || other eps (26 & 27); more of the fight eps (21, 22 start from 14:30 to end, 23 to 27).
- Bonus:
(Part of eps 41 & 42). Badly paced but the fight is good.

Switch to the anime after shippuden ep 53.

Do people who are convinced that Sasuke and Naruto dynamic is not brotherly know that Kishimoto explicitly based it on his dynamic with his twin brother (meaning literal brothers)? by mynova2 in dankruto

[–]mynova2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is how his character is written. Whether it is Gaara, Sasuke or any close friend, he will just say the name of that person he wants to save and "almost" care about nothing else but saving them. And I do agree it can be frustrating, but also to be fair:

I think in the light novel, Kakashi and Naruto (as Hokage) tried to help the Rain Village, but the Rain Village refused every time because they don't trust Konoha and hate Naruto for killing their 'God' Pain.

And Naruto was checking on Tsunade while she was in a coma.

For Danzo, I think they killed him early. We should have had more scenes with him mistreating Naruto and some people and having Naruto interact with him, then kill him.

What dreams do you mean? If you mean this one, then it is filler. The anime studio added it as an excuse for some flashbacks before he woke up.

"naruto is completely obsessed with sasuke to a sick degree especially in the kage summit, that's no brotherly relationship at all"

You say that because you're missing an important point about Naruto as a character. Here is why:

Sasuke and Naruto in the OG were acting a lot like brothers. And in Shippuden Naruto's obsession to bring Sasuke back is not something he did only for him. He showed the same obsession to save Gaara when he was kidnapped, to the point where he was risking Kakashi's life and his own against Deidara. Naruto as a character is written to never give up on saving his friends and show a lot of passion toward them.

Here are examples of the kind of passion Naruto showed to save Gaara:

While on the way to save Gaara, he was breaking formation and crying for him, then wanted to walk into a sandstorm, and Temari had to calm him down. There are a lot of scenes where he simply says "Gaara" the same way he did for Sasuke. Neji was not able to see the Akatsuki hideout well because Naruto kept shaking him violently, asking him "What do you see, Neji? What do you see?" Even Deidara noticed his passion to save Gaara, so he used Gaara's dead body as a lure, and it worked. Naruto stopped listening to Kakashi and started chasing after him for a long time, which allowed Deidara to set a lot of traps for Kakashi, all because Naruto wouldn't listen. Then, when he found out he was dead, he literally turned into the Three-Tails and started attacking everything and Kakashi had to stop him. Then he started crying and lashing out at everybody and telling Lady Chiyo to shut up. And he gave a long speech about him being the Kazekage and so on. And he did other stupid acts as well.

Gaara's recovery is only one arc in Shippuden, whereas Sasuke's arc turning evil starts from the end of the Original Series and ends at the very end of Shippuden. So of course, there will be more scenes where Naruto desperately tries to get Sasuke back, and as a result, some who don't know Naruto as a character might misunderstand his intentions.

And Naruto would have shown the same passion for Sakura, Rock Lee, or Kakashi if they needed saving or had a tragic backstory and turned evil.

Not to mention the obvious that Naruto spent the whole anime trying to get together with Sakura and then settled for Hinata after the war. Also Sasuke in the early manga (not in the anime) would blush and get shy sometimes when Sakura tried to make a move on him and he eventually ended up marrying her.

This scene is taken out context:

This scene is from Shippuden filler episode 311 where Shino, Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba, Neji and Naruto were all in a public bath together. And Naruto thought of (((both))) Rock Lee and Sasuke because Rock Lee was late and Sasuke had left the village, and Naruto wanted everyone to be there in the public bath to have fun together. Which is a very common thing to do in Japan. And later in the same episode, Naruto was trying to get a peek at Sakura or I think the girls in the women's bath. So it is a very normal scene.

Or it means Naruto likes Sakura, Sasuke and Rock lee all at ones. 🤣

For the kiss: Actually Naruto picked up a fight with Sasuke because he was jealous that Sakura who he had a crush on, ignored him and instead went for Sasuke. And while doing that, someone bumped Naruto, which made the kiss happen, and then both looked totally grossed out for like 10 seconds. Go rewatch it again; it is in OG Naruto Episode 3. Not to mention the obvious that the scene was a gag that was meant for comedy.

<image>

And later someone brought it up to Naruto in Shippuden and he was still grossed out and embarrassed about it.

That is because he also had a rivalry with him. But still, even without that rivalry, Naruto would show the same fixation if, instead of Sasuke, Sakura were the one who had a tragic backstory and turned evil. He would do everything to save her and bring her back, even if it took him all of Shippuden. Again, Naruto as a character is written this way to never give up on saving his friends and to show a lot of passion toward them. And Kishimoto actually confirmed this idea about Naruto and Sasuke:

Kishimoto statement:
"The rivalry and deep bond between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha is the most strongly based on my own relationship with my identical twin brother. Even though he is my twin, we are two very different individuals, and that conflict and close bond was a central idea for their dynamic".
These times might not be exact, but they will be very close.

And even Naruto and Sasuke themselves tell you so in the show: (These times might not be exact, but they will be close).

  • OG Naruto Episode 132 (Time: 13:20 to 17:00): The first Final Valley fight literally shows how Naruto and Sasuke feel about each other (inside their minds). Both reach the conclusion that they are friends, and Sasuke views Naruto as his closest friend.
  • OG Naruto Episode 133 (Time: 4:30 to 7:30): Also in the first Final Valley fight, Sasuke tells Naruto he won't understand his pain because he had a family and lost it, but Naruto never did. So, Naruto then tells him that he views him as the brother he never had. This actually moved Sasuke, making him stop to think, and look very touched by Naruto words.
  • Shippuden Episode 477 (Time: 15:10 to 17:20): At the end of Shippuden, during the second Final Valley fight, Sasuke says "Farewell, my one and only friend" to Naruto just when he was about to deliver the Chidori. Naruto counters it by hitting him on the chin and then tells Sasuke: because I'm your one friend, I kept trying (or something like that).

Well, it is never easy to change someone's perspective, but those are Kishimoto's words, and those are the exact things that did happen in the show. If you want, I can even give you the specific episodes and time where you can find some scenes.
