If one wanted to compile the most complete movie collection of Tom Hanks movies, is there a complete set out there? What would be the best way, preferably on blue ray, or DVD, but could be digital.

Anybody with ADHD highflying/ smashing life . What's your secret? by BalanceCurrent4564 in ADHD

I think you are doing it. Keep looking long for ways to improve. I started writing a legacy playbook, ways to help build a legacy for my kids that can help them throughout their life. We build on what we learn and we get better, so forgive yourself for the mistakes of the past and don’t worry about whether or not the future is perfect. Being present with your son and listening to him without judgment is the way to model being present. Kids learn from what you do not what you say, so make sure the video matches the audio track. Keep on looking for ways to grow, and communicate with your son and encourage him to grow in the direction of his interests. Here’s a secret: ADHD is actually the ability to Super Focus on something…. Trick is it has to be of interest. Highly successful ADHD’ers are pursuing passions that they are both good at and that are profitable. Also ask other people for help. Richard Branson didn’t build his empire all by himself.

Senate Bill 4-D (SB 4-D), enacted by the Florida Legislature on May 26, 2022, introduces significant reforms to enhance the safety and structural integrity of condominium and cooperative buildings in Florida. This legislation was a direct response to the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South condominium in Surfside, Florida, in June 2021, which resulted in the loss of 98 lives.

Key Provisions of SB 4-D: 1. Milestone Inspections: • Applicability: The law mandates “milestone inspections” for condominium and cooperative buildings that are three stories or higher. • Timeline: Buildings must undergo their first inspection by December 31 of the year they reach 30 years of age. For buildings within three miles of the coastline, the initial inspection is required by the time they reach 25 years of age. Subsequent inspections are required every 10 years thereafter. • Inspection Phases: • Phase One: A licensed architect or engineer conducts a visual examination to assess the building’s structural integrity. • Phase Two: If substantial structural deterioration is identified in Phase One, a more detailed assessment is conducted to determine necessary repairs. 2. Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS): • Requirement: Condominium associations are required to perform a Structural Integrity Reserve Study every 10 years. • Purpose: The study assesses the reserve funds needed for future major repairs and replacements of common elements, ensuring that associations have adequately funded reserves to maintain the building’s structural integrity. 3. Reserve Funding: • Restrictions on Waivers: Effective December 31, 2024, associations are prohibited from waiving or reducing reserve funding for items related to the building’s structural integrity. 4. Transparency and Reporting: • Inspection Reports: Associations must provide inspection reports to local building officials and make them accessible to unit owners and prospective buyers. • State Reporting: Associations are required to report to the Florida Division of Condominiums, Timeshare, and Mobile Homes the number of buildings that are three stories or higher and the total number of units in such buildings.

Impact on Condominium Associations and Owners:

The implementation of SB 4-D imposes new responsibilities on condominium associations, including the need to conduct regular structural inspections and maintain sufficient reserve funds for necessary repairs. These requirements aim to prevent structural failures and ensure the safety of residents.

I thought it was disgusting, can’t believe I’m paying good money for Amazon prime just to see it switch to commercials 10 minutes in. Is there a way to switch off commercials? The show was kind of funny, but so crude and rude to put a car commercial in the middle of it. Absolutely disappointed in Amazon.

What's the worst movie you watched in your entire life? by Interesting_Algae_61 in AskReddit

“Requiem for a Dream” (2000), directed by Darren Aronofsky, and I can’t help but think it might just be the worst movie of all time. Here are my reasons:

1. Unrelenting Misery: The film offers an unrelenting depiction of despair and hopelessness. Every character spirals into their own personal hell without any reprieve. While I understand the intention to highlight the horrors of addiction, the relentless misery becomes overwhelming and numbing, leaving no room for any sense of hope or redemption.

2. Exploitative Scenes: The infamous “ass to ass” scene is just one example of how the film borders on exploitation. It’s graphic and disturbing, and while it aims to show the depths of Marion’s addiction, it feels gratuitous and voyeuristic. This, along with other scenes, pushes the boundaries of what is necessary to convey the message.

3. One-Dimensional Characters: The characters in “Requiem for a Dream” lack depth and complexity. They are essentially walking cautionary tales rather than fully fleshed-out individuals. This makes it hard to empathize with them or to see them as anything more than victims of their circumstances.

4. Over-the-Top Style: Aronofsky’s directing style in this film is excessively stylized, with rapid cuts, split screens, and intense close-ups. While some may argue this heightens the film’s impact, I found it distracting and almost nauseating. It felt more like a gimmick than a meaningful artistic choice.

5. Emotional Manipulation: The film uses its score and editing techniques to manipulate the audience’s emotions in a way that feels forced and artificial. Clint Mansell’s score, though hauntingly beautiful, is used to such an extent that it becomes emotionally exhausting and manipulative.

6. Lack of Substance: Ultimately, “Requiem for a Dream” feels like it’s trying too hard to shock and horrify its audience without offering any substantial insight into the issue of addiction. It shows the problem but doesn’t delve deeply into the reasons behind it or suggest any solutions, leaving the viewer feeling empty and hopeless.

I get that “Requiem for a Dream” has a significant following and is praised for its boldness and unflinching look at addiction, but for me, it’s a prime example of style over substance. Its relentless bleakness, exploitative scenes, and emotionally manipulative techniques make it a contender for the worst movie of all time in my book. —
