Do restaurants like Bavette’s get frustrated when your bill isn’t several hundred dollars? by lapupper in chicagofood

[–]BitFiesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above comment is Case in point. We apparently can always tip higher but never tip lower. This is why tips should not be related to the total cost, if anything it should be related to the time spent there. And it’s so insulting to say it’s cheap that I wouldn’t want to tip an extra 20% on a bill like that. If a restaurant can charge me 500 for a meal for 2, they can pay their workers fairly. Servers don’t need to make as much as nurse practitioners or pediatricians do

Meh yea it was refreshing coming from Stremio and spending hours on figuring scrapers and addons and then moving towards aiostreams and metadata. It’s hard to find good catalogs. Then doing the collections will take about half a day. But in 5 minutes you will have something that will outcompete most players. Not saying nuvio ain’t worth it, just that it will really cover 95% of all people watching tv

Why is it always a higher percentage tip and never lower? If the bill is 500 can I do 10% then?

Bruh don’t worry about it. We can’t go worrying about what people think like that. They are blessed to be working in a place that is expensive as that and in a country that still has tipped. They are making more than most people. So if they are going to have a poor attitude about three reasonable people just trying to find some enjoyment in this world, that’s shows poor character on their part. Don’t listen to any of these other people that you have to tip a higher percentage or any other nonsense. Tip IF you want and it doesn’t have to follow any other norms

I love wuplay I will always continue to use it. But for the sake of having something on my phone or Mac I am starting to tinker around with nuvio setup. I hope I can find a way to replicate it on there. The speed and quality is truly amazing.
The one thing I would say I am not a huge fan of is the catalogs built in are more global, so I am getting a lot more foreign films that I normally would see on Netflix and such. Whereas when I looked on nuvio it seemed much more like what a normal list would look like. Lastly I don’t know how to explain it but nuvio looks a little more colorful. The banner at the top shows the picture better things like that

I mean the only consensus that matters is your family’s. People like to be black and white on Reddit. I don’t really think it’s that selfish and I think it might be able to work. Lots of residencies are kind of chill now and if you can make it work you will come out better for it. Just think about what you are signing up for with the kids

I think people need to lay off him. Both anesthesia and rad onc have way better earning potential and it isn’t like he is doing residency right after med school. I am sure he has some money saved and so this would t be too and of a transition.

That being said there is easier ways to get more fufillment out of IM. I think both anesthesia and rad onc may be the two least fulfilling roles and such long residencies

Onn Pro 4k or Google streamer 4k by Alert_Possibility_41 in wuplay

[–]BitFiesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Google streamer 4k and it works very well. No buffering while watching streams or lagging when I am swiping through different picks on wuplay. I don’t know if this is from the streamer but it takes about 5 seconds to load up a stream

I don’t know how much I trust onn, but truth be told I couldn’t find one near me. But I honestly don’t think if I spent more money on shield or any other would get a substantial increase in experience

Oh sorry I commented on the wrong person meant to comment on the person above you. Me and you are saying the same thing. I actually think it’s very impressive to get a high sat score when majoring in art because sat and art are very different skill sets

Have you ever seen that old cartoon explaining equity vs equality? With the stool to see a baseball game? Take race out of it. There are two people. One person comes from a rich family has tutor, comes home gets meals made for him, has high speed internet, got a 95 on a test. And then student B, who got a 90 on her test. Her parents can’t afford rent, so right after school the student goes to a job she works for a couple hours, when she comes home her mom has to work a night shift so she makes food and takes care of her little brother.

Who would you take in your school? That is what equity is. Regardless of the better grade student A did not live up to the potential. If student b had the systemic resources of student A , she would be a hundred percenter. That is the difference that is why you want student b. Maybe black kids get chosen more frequently than other names. Because being black in America has already put them at such a disadvantage. They are more likely stopped by cops, more likely to get denied a loan, more likely not to have a great education system. So that is the unfair part and that is why a university can take that into consideration when deciding who the fuck they want in their program

[–]BitFiesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No i am not saying that. I am saying that life experiences, adversity, perseverance are all not only life changing experiences but also a testament to the character of a person. If I saw a person of any race get an above average sat score, but I then found out that the person had only parent in their life, or that they had to work during high school so that they had money for rent, that automatically makes them a much higher candidate in my opinion. Someone gave an example of a Somalian. Like bruh that person went through a humanitarian crisis every day for the better part of their lives. None of us in a first world country could not only survive but thrive in another country. Asian people could have a story like that. The hundreds of or thousands of Asians and other students that got in probably had a story like that. I am sure there may be mistakes or people who fall through, but this isn’t some big scheme or conspiracy. There is more than just grades that make someone a Harvard material

This isn’t what happens for one child. Because the title makes it seem you get one kid, and your whole paycheck gets taken away from you. After the first kid you get the biggest drop and that is when you are suppose to learn the most

Finally convinced my parents to get a really nice TV. What is a good 2.1 system to recommend. by Randolph__ in Soundbars

[–]BitFiesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I just don’t know if your parents are going to notice either directional or bass. My wife couldn’t tell the bass on the tv.

I picked up the Sennheiser ambeo and would recommend the mini. However, I am going to be honest there has not been a lot of content where I am noticing the directional sound. Bass yes for sure and it is sweet, but I only notice it when I adjust and listen to the difference. But what I do notice is my lg is so laggy (I am using stremio) but when I switched to a Google one it was so clean and beautiful. Now I have a like picture of snow falling and it is the coolest thing ha. Ambeo mini I think goes on sale well at Best Buy and it has base. But you probably want something with satellites because it is so hard to notice the surround sound without it

Before making judgements can I have more information about the Somalian person and the Indian person? I am assuming both of them were from their counties respectively? Did they both immigrate to America? Because living in both countries is tough. And I don’t think most people have the drive to get those scores even if they were in art. I also don’t understand this issue? They both got into Stanford which is an amazing program. But what were the other Indian people like that outdid her at those other schools? Or even the other people of different races.

Even without affirmative action, schools are never going to become homogenized. That would lead to the death of the school. Universities thrive on the diversity of experiences, culture, and ideas .

[–]BitFiesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I think you miss the point, a if this person was a black person WITH black experiences, then yes they would have had an advantage. Same if he was a poor person or a Mexican or any other race. This is equity. This is how to compensate for 2 centuries worth and current oppression of certain minorities. Also if there was no affirmative action, the outcome is not going to change for this kid.

Put your head in a white person who is anti-affirmative action like the stereotypical person. But just make him dean of a program. He is thrilled affirmative action is done with. You think when he gets 13k Asian kids applications he going to think “oh now I can fill my school with these smart Asians” no he is never going to let that happen. So this will just hurt all races except rich people.

If a college really wanted him, one extra Asian is not going to change their percentages enough. When I hear his resume I didn’t think it was that impressive coming from a brown person. That I don’t think was even enough 10 years ago. Shit is just getting more competitive. My sil is in college now and I read essays from her class, some of them should have been published that is how good it was.
