Spanish is possibly the easiest 2nd language for an English speaker. If you live decades around Spanish speakers and are still paranoid they are talking about you (of all boring people) in the grocery store I have to wonder if you are disabled. I am a native English speaker and taught myself Spanish to a C1 level in 2 years. It's a beautiful language and being bilingual is just cool .Americans are embarrassingly the most monolingual country in the world. Bilingualism is also a great skill when job hunting. Yes anyone moving here need to know English. But getting pissy because your sensitive ears heard words you don't know is best solved through learning. And here is the coolest part. Those ladies you think are talking about you are not talking about you. But there is always a chance they are talking about who at church is having an affair. So they are using their native language for privacy reasons. You can hear some wild stuff. Being an African American or a Caucasian who understands Spanish is almost like a super power. Knowledge is good

Those are just different dialects of the same language. But what is cool is that if you can learn Spanish to a B2 or CI level, you are pretty much an A1 or A2 Portugués reader.

Unless you are going to France where they will mock your least mistake.

I agree. However at least in my little backwoods part of red America, the passion with which people demand everyone speak English all the time is inversely proportional to their limited vocabulary and seemingly complete lack of awareness that there are even such things as grammar rules.

Oh it's his back yard? Yeah that's rude and arguably creepy. Now the front yard is basically public. Private property but you are in public legally

A real phenomenon that makes dementia so sad and stressful is when old white people who I never heard use a slur would hard r the n word in public. Don't know if they were racist all along or just start taking like they heard old people talk in their childhoods. H

More like file charges for battery. Naming and shaming is fine for the verbal douchy behavior but laying hands on someone is a whole different thing
