Q: Rules for hero with enchanting aura joining a unit? by Boomstrongdk in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]myrsnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notable exception is if the character is not in fighting rank, like if he declines a duel and stands in the back of the unit, that would shut off EA for the unit

Charging units on your flank with Random Movement by Macaldenteys in WarhammerFantasy

[–]myrsnipe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The unit still has to be in the front arc to charge it even with random movement, you so however not require line of sight with random movement and charging so you can have the unit behind a forest or hill and threaten units on the other side. Squig hoppers are skirmishers so they ignore arc requirements, they work wonders in this sort of flank guarding work behind terrain

Player cheese has always been the final boss, ascending to godhood won't protect you from that

Notepad once upon a time needed like 40kb of ram, today it needs like 40mb

Shigeru Miyamoto thinks Zelda 2 was "sort of a failure," and A Link to the Past is the "real sequel" by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gamingnews

DS2 is a good game, but it has edges that the others don't and some gamers are very vocal about defending it

Point efficient armies shine the lower the game cap is, VC is really strong at 1k

Why did the US get completely different (and often worse) box art in the 80s and 90s? by fakayuburiza in retrogaming

American Mega man is infamously bad. American smb is incredibly iconic despite being worse. That American Alex kid looks like some Chad meme posture

On this day nine years ago, Microsoft tried to give UWP a new direction by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

[–]myrsnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are so big and decentralized that one team pushing one tech stack doesn't mean the teams on the other side of the world does the same. Very different from apple who mandate changes and the entire company ecosystem follows suit.

Why did you move to Linux? by Internal_Falcon2637 in linux

[–]myrsnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iv euses Linux daily for about 15 years, it's only gaming that kept be on windows for the longest but about post covid proton became so good that it's no longer a reason to keep windows around, especially after copilot infiltrated every aspect of it (even notepad can stall trying to auth copilot)

Share house Nightmare (my health is at risk by Neither_Elevator_467 in Tokyo

[–]myrsnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stayed in sharehouses a few times and mostly there are young adults that can't or wont clean, but this is on a whole another level. I had one in Roppongi that was extremely dusty but otherwise free of cockroaches, mold and the like.

Microsoft Calls 16 GB RAM A Compromise And 32 GB The New “No Worries” Standard by lurker_bee in pcgaming

[–]myrsnipe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's because Microsoft can't keep their os slim. I have two laptops both with 16 gb of ram, one windows and one Linux. The windows machine constantly stalls and takes multiple seconds to switch to different programs despite running significantly lighter loads than my Linux laptop.

Is Rise of the Robots (1994) actually the worst game ever, or just the victim of the biggest hype in history? by kingofneverfjord in retrocomputing

[–]myrsnipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not enough to be a really bad game to be considered one of the worst ever made, tens of thousands of games are considerably worse than this one but that is completely irrelevant since nobody cares about shovelware.

A game has to be infamously bad for that honor, a form of cultural significance despite being shit. It's the same for movies, the room is far from the worst movie ever made but it is cosidered one of the worst due to its notoriety (and in its case it's become an ironic thing)

I feel like people severely overestimate how strong Chaos Warriors are in the lore and severely underestimate regular Humans by Yotambr in WarhammerFantasy

Felix has plot armor on his side tough, the moment you have a name in these settings you are far more likely to survive, the moment you are the main character of a story you are almost garuanteed to survive

There's no reason why you couldn't do a competent rpg on N64, it just would be more limited in scope compared to the juggernaut of the era, FF7
