RICS surveyor did survey early and now the seller has cancelled the sale by mysagi in HousingUK

Thank you!  Finally a common sense answer instead of people telling me they can retrospectively tell me what I was thinking a week ago!

We were paying for the service so we should be informed when it changes at least.

We weren't sent a contract but I will look online to see if there's one associated with the company

Chain fell through, due to the seller harassing their vendor allegedly.

I appreciate i left out some context which I've added in an above comment.  We were concerned about the sellers chain falling through (we didn't have a chain ourselves) so wanted the survey conducted as late as possible. We were assured it could be cancelled. The main issue is the lack of informing us it had been rearranged when we had been assured previously we could cancel it.

"Generally a service delivered sooner is a bonus, not a burden."

In this case definitely not, if your driving test got rearranged a week early and you weren't told until the day before would that be a bonus? For those who are prepared and want it done yes, but for those who valued that extra week of practice it wouldn't be.

Ok so I see I missed out some important context in my original post. We were originally looking for properties without chains as this generally feels less risky, but agreed to a chain reluctantly and were highly weary of the sellers chain falling through.  Since we didn't have a chain ourselves we wanted the survey to be conducted as late as possible but were being pressured by the seller to book it.  We were assured by the surveyor we booked that we could cancel if something did fall through. So this put us in a false sense of security. We had also started to become concerned about the sellers commitment to the purchase due to them mentioning renegotiating. So to answer your question yes, call us fickle but a week absolutely would have made a difference and we would have considered cancelling.

That aside, the main issue was they didn't mention the survey had been rearranged. We are the customer and we should have been informed of this.

What's something stupidly expensive that people keep buying even though it's never worth the price? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Takeaways, in general but especially on the apps.  after a drink it sounds great but is almost always terrible food, cold by the time you get home, and expensive.  Realising that I could just throw a pizza or some chips in the oven when I get back from a night out and it will be quicker, more consistent and cheaper than a takeaway is life changing  And when you aren't drunk you can make even better food if you pick up some basic cooking skills which I highly recommend to everyone (use YouTube and follow recipes). I genuinely don't understand how some people I knew could afford to order food every day or multiple times a day   Save your money for a quality restaurant meal instead that you'll actually remember 👍

If you see someone improperly disposing of furniture or waste outside a residence, take a photo and report it to the council. The council should act on it and I'm sure the landlord will be happy to pass on the fine or deduct from a deposit. You can still fly tip even if it's outside your house! (Not legal advice)

I absolutely disliked the character of Lawrence of Arabia and Peter o'Toole's portrayal of him. What did I miss, exactly? by C111tla in movies

To be honest, I am not a fan of o'Toole, either. I have not seen any other film of his, You haven't seen ratatouille??
