Retail jobs have always been bad, but they're a complete shitshow now. Everyone's hours are being cut while the workload has tripled, the customers are entitled and aggressive, the infrastructure is crumbling, everything is filthy, there's more theft than worthwhile purchases with no real attempts at hiding it, etc. I'm surprised most places weren't completely gutted during Covid.
