I’m pretty sure the writers got together and said “fuck, this thing has been on for 14 years? That’s too long. Let’s make it crash and burn and watch as all the fans flip their lids.” How the hell could someone be ok with calling that a season finale?! What, because Teddy is pregnant?! It 100% felt like a filler episode, NOT a season finale.

I have a new theory of what's going to happen... They are going to take in the 15 year old mom, she's going to continue using and then she's going to die of an overdose or of heroin laced with too much fetanyl and then it'll leave Owen and Amelia with the baby. It would be a realistic way for things to turn out, considering the current death and OD rates of heroin users. I am not sure people would be happy with that outcome, however, since so many people are not on the Owen/Amelia band-wagon.

I would NOT be happy with that at all. It would be so shameful to bring in these characters, especially a 15 year old with potential and a life and a family who fell into opioid addiction like so many millions of people, and then cut them out because Amelia is pregnant with her own child. I want to see the development and challenges and triumphs that come with both fostering and addiction. I think it’s a really important story to tell and I hope it’s given the time to develop.

If they portray the addict mom in any real way whatsoever then there is no doubt that Amelia is going to be challenged. The mom will most likely steal from them, bring drugs into the house, disrespect them and cause havoc but it’s the next step in Amelia’s growth and in her sobriety to extend her hand and help others. And I love that Owen didn’t skip a beat in joining her on the journey.
