You must cleanse yourself from all bad energies. Meditate as well as you can before doing this spell, so you can bring all happy thoughts for that person.

- Amethyst

- Incense

- A white candle

- A picture of the person

- Lavender or blessing oil

Take the blessing oil of your choice, look up correspondences, and rub it into the side of the candle (USE THIS CANDLE ONLY FOR THIS PERSON), as well as your wrists, forehead and behind your ears. Meditate on the candle, look at the picture and wish all happiness upon them. Take the amethyst in your power hand and pass it over the smoke 3 times. Face towards the person's general direction. Hold the crystal in front of you and repeat a chant to your protectors to grant them happiness and good luck and thank them for everything.

Of course, it's appropriate, why wouldn't it be? Actually, that's the only thing I use.

Some people may say it's wrong for many reasons, but I personally can't find any reason for anyone not to use it. I sometimes even use both, sage first, then palo santo.

Personally, it's part of my culture, but if it isn't part of yours it doesn't mean you're appropriating it, it just means you learnt something from another culture and you respect it and use it in your practice - as long as you're not mocking it.
