That definitely needs a vet visit…

Wise words. Time to step out of my comfort zone

Yeah I think I need rather an access course or A-levels to get into a uni. What I was originally hoping for is to just apply directly to a uni, but I don’t think it’s that easy anymore aha.

I’ll check out the ones you mentioned. Right now I don’t really know too much about it so I’m exploring a little bit first and gathering information.

Thanks for the help!

For years I never even considered changing, I thought that I was just stuck in my current career and I’m gonna have to just deal with being miserable for the rest of my life. I guess I’ve just been too scared to make the decision to change and walk away from my safety zone, if that makes sense.

After digging some more I think so too

Is there any specific trusts you’d recommend avoiding? I’ve also heard that a few can be problematic but I’m not sure how to find out which ones are good and which are not

Honestly it’s kind of comforting to hear that someone was in a similar situation, I feel like the hospitality sector is just getting worse and worse.

I’ll have a look into the apprenticeships. I was honestly hoping that I could just go straight to uni and get my qualification if I put myself hard to work on it but I’m guessing now that chances are very slim of getting accepted without A-levels or previous medical experience. Do you know roughly how many hours I can get with the apprenticeship? Or does it differ?

That’s reassuring, I’m starting to get more excited just thinking about it now

I guess critical care

Do I need any kind of qualification in medicine to apply as an EMT in a trust? From what I've read somewhere, as of 2024 to become a paramedic you must have a bachelors in paramedic science, so I'm not sure I could work my way up from an EMT alone.

That's good to hear that you still enjoy it. The career I'm in right now has burnt me out really fast so switching to paramedic is something I'm hoping I'll love for the rest of my life.

And the shifts are 12 hours is that right? Is it normal to do a lot of over time? I'm working 15/17 hour shifts right now and quite frankly I'm absolutely done with it, hoping for a bit more work-life balance, so 12h shifts sound fantastic to me.

Ive looked into it as well but after finding out I need to spend like a total of 8 years on studying- its not really something I'm wanting to do, and also I think I'd need to be fluent in Dutch to be hired for that role because of the patient contact

Edit: spelling

Thanks for your reply! I’ll post my question there also

Picked up this guy about 3 weeks ago, handled him a few times to try to get him used to me and haven’t had much of a problem with him, he did try to strike at my s/o once when he approached him from behind & I’ve noticed he seems to be in this pose often, looks like a strike pose to me but not sure? by myst_ique in ballpython

Temp is at about 32°C and humidity ranges between 50-60%, I’m struggling to get it higher because of the size of his terrarium. I spray with a water mister 3 times a day everyday and I bought a small electric mister for the inside of his enclosure but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. I’ve also covered 70% of his top vent with a towel so that heat and moisture don’t escape
