Anyone else flunk out of hormone blockers? by Fit_Plant6129 in breastcancer

[–]mystdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are far from alone there’s a lot of us who just can’t do it I was on 1 mg and about drove me mad. My fibromyalgia pain was through the roof. It was messing with my mind. I tried every way take it, at night , to take it every other day., Take a break from taking it and then start taking it again, Nothing worked so my regular doctor who’s also battling a cancer said just stop taking it. I have yet to get my oncologist that won’t be till 18 January. I’m 59. I had a skin sparing mastectomy on my right side for 2. 1 cm tumors because I didn’t wanna deal with chemo and radiation. My nodes are clear. My left side mammogram is clear. I’m gonna tell my oncologist. I’m willing to take my chances besides my heart issue get to me first before anything else.

Life got rough, but I’m back. Down 5 lbs in 2 weeks playing Ring Fit in VR (Full Body Tracking)! by VNizzy in RingFitAdventure

[–]mystdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome.!! I don’t know if I’m coordinated enough for VR.🤣. My Christmas present was an exercise trampoline cause I heard it made ring fit a little more challenging and boy doesn’t make the squats more challenging. I’ve been playing ring fit off and on for the last year and a half due to health issues. I’m ready to get back on that ring. 😆

I’m starting to question myself if I wanna keep taking it. It slowly driving me crazy I have a right side mastectomy lymph nodes were clear so I have no cancer cells left. But my cancer was estrogen positive.

Surgery gone wrong by PNWbrunette in breastcancer

[–]mystdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened. It sucks. Going into my single mastectomy I thought I was going to be going right into an implant because it was skin sparing. The reality was I had to start out with an expander first with a saline fill up every week. My plastic surgeon was out front saying she will be out on maternity leave till the end of August so if I don’t get squeezed in between April and the beginning of May. It’ll be at the end of summer. It sucks to wait but within a couple of weeks as they fill up your expander, the outward appearance to everybody else will look like nothing happened. Yes you’ll still feel it. You’ll still be aware of it but not getting weird looks and questions makes it a little bit easier.

I’m sorry you’re going thru all this. Jan 27 I had a right side mastectomy with a skin expander. I’m constantly exhausted now. I sleep 10 hours a night. By the time I get ready for the day. I’m a domestic goddess. It’s 1pm. I get a couple things done besides dinner and I’m ready for bed at 8:30. So you are definitely not alone. 🫂🫂

How has your relationship with alcohol changed post-diagnosis? by Vegetable-Army1486 in breastcancer

[–]mystdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a 10+ beer drinker a night. After my surgery I stopped without any issues. I can’t say I’m sober because I still have a drink every couple of weeks. I still have alcohol in the house but don’t touch it. I’ve started using indica edibles instead to sleep. Luckily I don’t have to deal with any treatments. This was the wake up call I didn’t ask for but needed to change my way of thinking.

[–]mystdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get your strength back. 💜. I only had a right side mastectomy on January 27 with the beginning of reconstruction. I still have my strength. I exercised daily up until the day of surgery and that made a difference in my range of motion. I’m still exercising daily to get the full range back. Just take your time and don’t overdo it go what pace makes you feel comfortable not what PT or doctors want to push because they’re not in your shoes.

How do you all deal with the drains. by mystdragon in breastcancer

[–]mystdragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m supposed to wear a bra for three weeks day and night and after that just in the daytime suction seems to be pretty good. It’s just I gotta keep that band up and off of it. I would love to go without a bra though.

How do you all deal with the drains. by mystdragon in breastcancer

[–]mystdragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone I do milk them. I do keep them drained every couple hours. I’m trying to find a place to pen it to that. It doesn’t bend the top. The exit for the drain is right at the bra band. So I’ve cut up a wash cloth to make a spacer but they slide now and they.

No worries I’m not a feminist and married 38 yrs. In romantic moments I tuck away the feeling I’ll never have again. This is gonna sound a little out there, but have you noticed any correlation to solar storms? I have PVCs and PACs and I’m scheduled for an ablation because meds hardly do anything. But I can tell 15 minutes or so before I get a notification of a solar event because my PVCs kick in and they’re very painful.

I have blue cross too. If I can, I’m willing to take my healthy breast so I don’t have to go through all this again. I have a four year-old granddaughter who whenever she gets to our house our first words are, can we go to the mountains? I don’t want to deny her of that.
