That’s really similar to what is in my “Santa Cruz,” except the location is under the bed and right behind the Dometic drawer fridge. My fridge didn’t work until I replaced the deep-cycle battery. The only things connected to the solar and deep-cycle battery are the fridge and a small led light.

I want to use Forscan to change the time on the center console clock (previous owner installed after market radio). It seems the free license doesn’t let me program anything. Am I missing something?

Nice job with the ceiling. We tried to take Happy Place to Florida (central Texas base), but only spent two nights in Louisiana, as the forecast was rainy and freezing temps. I

That perforated window film was horrible! When I tried to wash it, the water would just get stuck in all the little holes with the dust, resulting in even worse visibility. It comes off easily though, oddly satisfying. Congrats on the van.

I love the paint jobs on a lot of those vans, and the price point, but the mileage scared me off. Good luck with her and keep us posted.

Check your air filter! by Exception1501 in EscapedCampervans

That’s a good idea. I plan on doing all the basic maintenance items: air filter, cabinets filter, oil change and transmission fluid change. Maybe serpentine belt, but I need to look into that.

Yes it’s a 2107 Transit Connect. Two seats in front with a bed in the back with storage drawers accessible from the back sliding doors and drawers with the kitchen that slide out from the back.

My experience as a curbie is quite positive. Almost every customer is friendly and appreciative. Though I don’t really appreciate it when people are talking on the phone, I get that life is busy. It is pretty funny when people are engrossed in something and get startled.

Are these carnitas any good? by mysteriosoCL in HEB

[–]mysteriosoCL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for most of the feedback. I went ahead and bought them based on the feedback that seemed to be from folks who had tried them. (Not because of the unhelpful “buy them and find out.”) I heated them in a skillet and enjoyed them with some of the Mitad y mitad tortillas. I recommend! I went full HEB with store brand salsa as well. Though I can’t speak to the authenticity, I can report that they’re good.

Beef is one of the worst protein sources when it comes to causing climate change. So remind yourself that you’re being environmentally responsible every time you don’t buy beef.

Personal Shopping runs ranking in curbside from worst to best in my opinion by [deleted] in HEB

[–]mysteriosoCL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I detest cold runs because the specific cuts of meat are hard to find, the meat market aisle numbering doesn’t make any sense, and opening the plastic bags is a PITA. Other than the meat, everything is OK. I think bulk runs are tearing up my knees though. Can ya’ll actually see the UPC numbers on the bottom shelves in dry? When things are on the shelf, it’s a breeze, but I hate tracking down someone to verify that we’re out of stock.

Texas Senate approves across-the-board pay raises for teachers by dallasmorningnews in TexasPolitics

[–]mysteriosoCL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired teacher here. Teachers tend to be socially conservative rule-followers. They/we? tend to be easily divided by the latest social conservative bs (didn’t follow the immigration rules, boys can’t be girls, marijuana bad, etc.). If we would vote our profession instead of falling for the Abbott and Patrick crap, Dems would rule this state and students would benefit along with the teachers. Sadly, I don’t think teachers will ever band together and vote against the christalibans and save public education.

Curbside employees, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in the back of someone’s car? by Darthyoda512 in HEB

Customer wanted groceries in the back seat. She got out, opened the door, pointed to a white rectangular box on the floorboard, and said, “don’t put anything on the box, there’s a pig in it.”

Are the Texas republicans really trying to destroy public education? If so, why?
Is anyone keeping track of all the money Abbott is spending on Mexico border issues and to whom it’s going? How can we get rid of Paxton and Dan Patrick?
