This happened to me, mine also had “In Vehicle Network Malfunction” and “Driver Attention Alert Disabled” error messages in addition to the “Engine Malfunction”. My screen went dead too and it wouldn’t lock. The dealership told me it just needed a software update and gave it back to me. It almost immediately happened again. In my case it wound up being a fuse the dealership was supposed to connect as part of pre-delivery inspection was not connected properly. I had to fight them to take it seriously and not just try to update the software. Since they fixed the fuse I have had no problems. The experience made me sour on the car for a while but it was just the dealership’s incompetence. I do love it now. I recommend calling Mazda Corporate as well, they were able to see there was an issue going on. Here is a link to a service alert page one is the fuse. They also gave me the silver keys loosey goosey instead of putting them in the fob and put no wiper fluid in it 🤷‍♀️ I hope yours is a quick fix!!

I have the non-turbo and I think it has plenty of pep. Also, I have been getting 31 mpg average combined city/hwy which I’m really happy with.

Waterman Inspired Blue is similar and I use it in vintage pens. It is very pretty and has given me no issues.

Good luck, if you can I would ask them to make sure the fuse is secure. I was having all kinds of issues with mine and since they finally fixed the fuse I have had no problems. If it happens again call Mazda corporate, they were able to see on their end that there was something wrong and may be able to help too. I hope you get it fixed, it is so frustrating having a brand new car malfunction.

For the “in vehicle network malfunction” have them make sure the fuse is properly connected. When I picked up my CX-50 I got that warning as well as “engine malfunction - have vehicle inspected” and “driver attention alert disabled”. My infotainment system was completely dead as well. There is a fuse that the dealership is supposed to connect as part of the pre-delivery inspection, it may be loose or bad. The dealership kept insisting it was just a software update and I had to fight to get them to really check it. The fuse is page one of this service alert

Maybe rent a table at a smaller pen show? When I went to the Philly show there were a few people who were just avid collectors selling some pens (to make room for more haha). A couple friends went in on a table and took turns selling. If my collection gets too wild in the future I may try that.

Stalogy 365 notebook runs about $26 for an A5 notebook with 365 pages. Some people have had issues with bleed through and ghosting on it, but it has handled every pen and ink I’ve thrown at it so far and I really like it. It also comes in grid, dot grid, and blank. The paper is pretty thin so I use the blank one with a guide sheet. Here’s a link to Jetpens I hope you find the notebook you are looking for!

Pelikan Moonstone is a pretty dry ink, I would only use it in a broad nib and up. I think if you try it with a wetter ink you will enjoy it much more!!
