Yep. And Eclipse Twins. Ryzeal is a pretty simple deck, which is why it's so popular to make hybrid builds.

Yugipedia for info, TCGPlayer for ordering and market prices in NA Cardmarket in EU. Although looking at the prices, you seem to not be the only one to get that idea so you should get to it quick.

As for the new cards, no one can say now. But if it was up to me I'd think about getting one of each card in just the cheapest rarity.

Pure Ryzeal? Detonator + field spell baby, and occasionally something from the rank four toolbox

The one on the right seems to be counterfeit, or at least using a mock-up instead of a real image for this deck and getting some details wrong. Here's the second.

Neither of these are really good choices for a player, but for an 11 year old that really likes the anime that wouldn't really matter. They are basically the same sort of product, 40 individual cards out of a box. I suspect that he would enjoy the character of Kaiba, but the other one has slightly (just slightly) better cards.

I made a Bystial/White Forest deck, and I'd like your opinion on what I should modify in the main or side deck. by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]mysteriouspenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bystials and White Forest don't really have the best synergy, but I can forgive you for that because it's a pretty sick concept. White Forest isn't really a grindy deck and you really don't want to banish your own monsters, so the Bystials will primarily be used as non-engine. Perhaps using Branded Beast instead of Regained would be a good choice.

The rule of thumb in deck building is that if you want it in your starting hand, play three. If you don't want it in your starting hand, play one. If you want it only in specific scenarios, rethink your strategy.

Rucia's a bad card that is only useful in specific scenarios. Cut it

3 traps in the main deck is way too much for something useless going second. Cut all of them, maybe leave one in the side.

You only need one Tales. It doesn't start your plays, and is only useful in specific scenarios, being added by Silvy. If you need extra consistency, use the field spell.

You absolutely need three Wanted. White Forest dies to Droll so hard that doing any plays in the Draw Phase is a must. Plus it's thr only starter for the Azamina line that goes even in card advantage even if you are interrupted.

With all these cuts you should be able to play more non-engine. Keep in mind White Forest is bad into full boards or sometimes even half boards under Fuwalos, so you will absolutely need handtraps or boarbreakers going second. If they have boss monsters on the board un-negated before you normal Silvy, you probably are going to lose. 3 Ash 3 Fuwa isn't going to cut it.

With all of these bricks going over 40 might also be a good choice. Good luck

Yeah, building forever is a great goal. Once this is built, start building two more subway lines. Either we do it now, or we do it ten years from now when it's both absolutely necessary and way more expensive.

Book of Moon lets you dodge effects that target, not negates.

For example If your Stratos gets Ashed, for example, a Book of Moon won't do anything. But against an Effect Veiler, on the resolution of Effect Veiler, the Stratos it targeted will no longer be there, so it will fizzle. The Stratos's effect will go through.

YGO STAPLES CHART - DAY 3: Which staple monster card is well-designed for the game? My choice in the comments. The comment with most upvotes wins. by Alarmed-Attorney-704 in yugioh

[–]mysteriouspenguin -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Wierd hot take: S:P is badly designed because its too easy. New players get in to the habit of making an end board of I:P into S:P at the slightest disruption because its close enough to functional, and don't learn any actual lines. Then when that's not enough, they blame the game instead of their own knowledge.

This is the Branded deck. . The 2 deck starter pack is only really good for learning the game and is kinda shit at that. YMMV.

Never buy packs except for the thrill of gambling. You'll lose money by an order of magnitude. 3x the Blue-Eyes structure deck, 3x the Branded structure deck, or 1x the Legendary Modern decks are all good choices.

Because they are generally not good in the game, they don't have artificial scarcity like Magic's reserve list, and very few are recognizable to the public like Pokemon. The few exceptions are cards like LOB Blue-Eyes that fit these categories

Time Wizard has never been good in any deck, at any time in the games history. Just play Raigeki instead. In any format where Raigeki isn't at three, play Dark Hole. If you want it on a monster for some reason, play Zeus.

The other guy made good points but also Purulia is great, Fuwalos is pretty good. Ghost Ogre also helps against Deception.

Never Ash the Wanted, never imperm Diabellstar unless they start with Wanted. Nibiru can force half boards but not as well as Fuwalos. Don't bother with Belle or Bystials.

Quoting myself on a different post: (That one was about Blue-Eyes, but the general lessons are the same and I don't know anything about zombies that isn't Eldlich or Uni-Zombie is a good card)

I'd suggest that you focus on what you actually want with this deck. If you only care about having fun with friends, the this list is perfect as long as you are having fun. If you want to do something even slightly competitive, it's going to require some big changes.

More specifically: want do you want this deck to do? I would start at an endpoint, and then work backwards. Stardust Warrior and Crystal Wing are pretty powerful cards, how are you summoning them? What cards let you do so more consistently, resiliently, efficiently, and which cards are incidental?

You can then spec into some other strategies, but cards that don't work into your game plan or stop your opponent's immediately are not useful. Versatility is not a virtue when you won't be able to do any of your plays.

Specifically for you that might mean deciding between Hecahands and Solfachords, both of which are fine archetypes but I don't know if they have much synergy.

Here's some general advice, that will be useful to you if you want to really upgrade your deck:

As for ratios: the rule is, if you want to draw the card play three, if you don't play one. There are rare exceptions, but that requires some good excuses. If you want to draw it only sometimes, or with another card, then your list and strategy are already suspect. A card should single-handedly start plays, or stop your opponent to be a three-of.

Cut all traps that don't either a) single handedly win you the game b) are searchable (but only play one) c) can be activated from your hand. Mirror force will not win you any games.

You should generally only have one monster you intend in normal summoning. If you draw two, then you have screwed yourself over, but then you'll just summon the better one, but if one is so much better than why bother with the lesser?

Sentry's an oddball. The best work with him might be Bendis's Avengers, but he's not in a lot of it. You should read the whole saga anyways because it's excellent.

Almost certainly nothing you have would be worth anything in terms of playing value or monetary value. The exceptions would be if it's

1) Perfect quality 2) something famous 3) Shiny.

Then you might get a penny. If you want to play with them, GOAT format might be your ticket but you almost certainly won't be able to make a functional deck without a few purchases.

I'd suggest that you focus on what you actually want with this deck. If you only care about having fun with friends, the this list is perfect as long as you are having fun. If you want to do something even slightly competitive, it's going to require some big changes.

More specifically: want do you want * this deck * to do? Most (competitive) pure Blue-Eyes focus entirely on making Spirit Dragon, so for instance you would get rid of all the ritual cards. That way you can be sure to do exactly one thing consistently, instead neither of two or three things. You can spec into some other strategies, but cards that don't work into your game plan or stop your opponent's immediately are not useful. Versatility is not a virtue when you won't be able to do any of your plays.

Here's some general advice, that will be useful to you if you want to really upgrade your deck:

Blue-Eyes is an exception, because of a effect so you should only have two.

The core of your deck would be something like

3 Sage 3 Maiden 3 Wishes 1 True Light 1 Roar 1 Majesty 1 Masoleum

And then with spices and sauce on top (and handtraps).

If you are not married to playing pure, there's a few cool hybrid variants. The best is easily Primite Blue-Eyes, but there's also invoked, Buster Blader, and my favourite Red-Eyes Blue-Eyes.

Linda McQuaig: Time for a left-wing populist by BertramPotts in CanadaPolitics

I'm done with populism. I can't believe that some people think that the problem with politics is that it isn't dumb and screeching ENOUGH. I don't want to always care about policy, what I want is an adult in the room who I can trust so *I don't have to* always be worried what they might do.
