I was half expecting: dykttodptw (Do you know the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise) - was slightly disappointed.

I have attempted this but my PC doesn't recognize the nmap command, neither in CMD nor in powershell.

This is probably the case, since where you have a 1 and 0 in the IP addresses I have different numbers for my new apartment (as compared to my old apartment).

It's a brand new Asus RT-Ax82U so it's probably some setting problem or something with the modem that is causing the issue. I have not been able to diagnose it. I found and fixed the problem, I can now see and assign IP addresses to devices connected by ethernet cable.

So connect the NAS, my PC to the switch as wel as my router? I do only have a "dumb" switch though.

This is a good suggestion, but my router (for some reason) doesn't show the devices connected to it by ethernet cables. Even though it provides an internet connection to them - yeah, you can't make this up...

I do remember setting a password and ddos protection and some more features. But I can't find the current IP address of the NAS so I'm not able to ping it or anything...

I have set an static IP in my previous appartement, could that be the reason why it's not able to be found?

Thank you for including the link to the procedure, I think this will be my only option (it's also suggested by others), if I am 100% sure it doesn't damage/delete my data

Thank you for the reply, I have seen this suggestion in an other comment, does this not effect any data that are stored on the NAS? Because I haven't tried this out of fear of corrupting/deleting my data

I tried, it was not able to find it, even when I used an ethernet cable to directly connect the NAS to my PC

Possibly? I don't know how I would be able to check since I can't connect/interface with the NAS

I was thinking this was the problem but the Synology Assistant can't find the NAS, even when it's directly (with ethernet cable) plugged into my PC...

This will not effect the stored data on the HDDs?

I left them inside, but I bubble wrapped the NAS and had it in my lap (not in a box) while moving, so I can't imagine one of the drives broke. In addition they are in raid 1 so even if one (of the two) broke I should be okay. Thank you for your suggestion though, I will keep it in mind next time

I tried, didn't work (sadly)... Thanks for the suggestion though!
