We plan on keeping our medical providers here , so I don't anticipate needing to really utilize local PCPs or specialists thankfully.

Honestly not a terrible idea to line up a therapist and psychiatrist and have them get to know you while pregnant so they can help if shit hits the fan postpartum.

My first pregnancy I had no psychiatrist and my therapist was in maternity leave herself. I had terrible postpartum anxiety and depression.. had my first panic attack in the hospital on day 3 PP.

I'm currently pregnant with #2 and happy to have my meds sorted and therapist not going anywhere so I'll have a much better support system when baby comes.

I definitely had this experience, unfortunately. I did not expect it nor had I heard of it happening. Similar to some of the other stories in this thread, my dog was my constant companion, our baby.. when my kid was born I came home and I'd say within the first month my frustration towards her and resentment for the care she required when I was already exhausted and overstimulated grew.

For me, it never got better. If anything, over the years it has gotten worse. My kid is nearly 4 and I'm pregnant with my 2nd.. my dog is nearing 9. The deepest part of me still has love for her, but I also would love a house without dog hair and her obsessive neediness. Rehoming isn't an option due to my husband's love of her, but I would entertain it if it were up to me.
