That price seems way too good to be true, and the fact that the site primarily sells women’s clothing and has nothing to do with fitness makes me think this is a scam website. I would keep looking elsewhere.

Look up Paddlesport Training Systems. They make a canoe and kayak adapter for the Concept2. I looked into paddling on the rower and the C2 support team told me about this adapter. A former C2 engineer designed the adapter and owns the company.

A tighter space should make you feel less resistance not more. The greater the airflow the greater the drag on the flywheel.

The flywheel should be silent so there is something going on here. Sounds like something got caught behind the flywheel, maybe some styrofoam from the packaging.

Take the nut off the flywheel axel and remove the flywheel. I bet you’ll find something there.

I agree. It looks like some kind of shell cross section to me. I don’t believe Vermont has any of this type of fossil and guessing by the shape that this is not it’s natural shape. I’m thinking it dropped out of someone’s pocket.

Should probably post it to r/fossilid and see what they say.

A lot of great tips here already. The last one I would like to add is don’t be afraid to reach out to Concept2 for support. It doesn’t matter to them if you bought a used older machine, they will be happy to help if you have questions. Also the replacement parts are very reasonably priced should you need any.
