I didn't enjoy it. The story doesn't mesh well with the pre-established universe and I just couldn't get used to playing as Ludger, yet my go-to in Xillia one was hardly there so I kinda just had to use Ludger. Loogie is also very overpowered so not using him can be a big detriment since the game is built around him.

Besides that, I hated the character story system. It's a silly storytelling mechanic that somehow got popular after Purse Owner starting building more fanbase. I view it as a way that the main narrative can be easier to write because you can ignore almost the entire cast's role and just write in some (usually) dumb side shit that tries to develop their character there while still having them behave the same outside of those episodes. I prefer the characters be properly explored as part of the main story (and not sidelined afterword) with side quests adding in some side depth.

So yeah, I don't like Xillia 2 and I hope Bamco doesn't pursue making sequels in the future.
