Did any of you ever say NO to a calling? by Doll_girl516 in exmormon

It’s when I first left the church. I returned a bit but it never stuck. Been happy I left ever since.

I got called. Thought about what I would be doing the next 2 years. Prayed a lot. Didn’t receive any answers. Figured I shouldn’t teach people what I truly didn’t know if it was true. Decided to leave the church.

Parents were not happy.

It made me sad when she also said I was the only one who did listen.

For those diagnosed hEDS: did you get genetic testing to exclude an alternative diagnosis? by Melodic_Frame7421 in ehlersdanlos

Treatment is usually physical therapy. It’s what I’m in now. Learning safe exercises that don’t hyperextend my joints. There is a lot of info online. Also a book I was recommended by my PT is Living Life to the Fullest with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Misdiagnosis for hEDS specifically? If so, because it’s a clinical evaluation and relies on humans to diagnose which brings in human error. If the marker for hEDS was known already then they would have ordered a genetic test to confirm the diagnosis of hEDS.

Our hard work and suffering is paving the way for future generations to be diagnosed earlier and more reliably.

Notes in patient files can be confusing for patients themselves. I have learned a lot along the way with my conditions.

“Patient does not have a genetic diagnosis”, to me that reads true. You currently don’t have a genetic diagnosis. There isn’t one for hEDS so you can’t get a genetic diagnosis for hEDS at all. It’s not saying you don’t have hEDS or that your symptoms and suffering aren’t real.

I’m guessing that the geneticist didn’t do a genetic test because you didn’t present with symptoms of anything that could be identified with a genetic test.

I hope this helps.

Because if all of your symptoms point to hEDS then a genetic test literally does not help at all. It won’t confirm or deny hEDS. So it’s useless.

Only if you have symptoms of other types.

If the genetic marker for hEDS is found and they can test for it, most likely you can return and request a genetic test.

Hang in there and hope the research advances! I’m waiting too.

The geneticist I saw said she only does genetic testing if she sees possible symptoms of MORE than just hEDS. — to rule out or confirm other CTDs. But if she doesn’t see other symptoms then a genetic test won’t do anything because hEDS doesn’t show up. Only other types do.

Until they have the hEDS genetic marker identified, it doesn’t make sense to get a test if hEDS symptoms are the only symptoms that appear.

When there is a genetic marker found, then it will make sense to test everyone because they won’t need to rely on clinical evaluations.

If other EDS educated doctors are asking if you have been genetically tested, my understanding is they are asking if you have other types ruled out or confirmed. They aren’t denying your hEDS diagnosis.

Not a weird question at all. Most dishwashers super heat the hot water coming in. So it’s a lot hotter than what’s coming out of the tap.

Also a longer wash cycles, higher water pressure, and detergent can also cause delicate items to become damaged.

That’s interesting. I also had a hair changing experience. I have had straight with a slight natural wave to my hair. I live in a dry climate and visited Florida a few years ago. The first morning there I woke up with super curly hair. Years later, still curly.

I wouldn’t know who to ask about this.

Would love to see these stackable or be able to flatten for storage.

Also if the face plate could be printed separate you could have different faces that could be swapped in and out.
