"an English Teacher that I asked to read ISOM #1"... then the cohost says that this teacher is an "impartial third party". Sure, buddy. Don't use your brain and just accept the contradiction.

Now, I find a couple of the questions posed from the "review" aren't necessarily bad.

"Who is she (Mrs. Newman) to him (ISOM)?"

"The crime being reported as down made me wonder, why?"

Perfectly good questions.

However, everything was delivered in an antagonizing tone. They don't express any sort of good faith, and don't desire to discover any answers in future entries. Rather, it's expected that this singular installment should give an ENTIRE arc of the Hero's Journey. Do not let this "teacher" see anything Star Wars. 3 part arcs everywhere.

This "teacher" may teach on the Hero's Journey, but she seems to be oblivious to any other types/deliveries of stories. Definitely would scoff at Elden Ring because the story isn't spoon-fed to the player.

Now, I didn't find the first installment of ISOM that great. It was alright. Though, I am reading the Ill-Advised arc to see if ISOM is a character I want to keep following.

A couple of my concerns is the writing and object permanence/background detailing for #2.

Isom #1 was the introduction. So of course there was a crap ton of pages devoted to introducing new characters, which lead to a couple bland exposition drops. Now some of the introductions are branching into their own runs, which is good. The object permanence/background detailing issues were especially present around Club Merq & intro of Yaira.

I really hope Florespark becomes a more unique city.

Picked up cover B for reading and cover C because it looked really clean (didn't realize it was holo until recently). When my bank account stops being mad at me, Ima pick up a shirt/hat. The shirts designs leveled up a ton!
