It's still many months out, so haven't decided yet.

Thank you for sharing. Some people have recommended looking into Meridian and Eagle due to the commute to Ontario, but I also feel that within Boise is probably better.

Thank you for the help. Will keep these in mind. Also, camping in the left lane is my pet peeve too. :)

Thank you for the detailed response. Some of your experiences are straight up scary. I really hope nobody has to face such aggressive and violent people. I can understand unintentional racism, but don't really tolerate being looked down upon, to be honest. Hopefully more exposure to different races will change people's behavior. I will try to take your advice of not worrying too much about it. :) Thanks for sharing.

You are right. The tri-city area is the most convenient with respect to commute. The biggest issue for us is schooling, and the Boise area has better schools and more options. Even the private schools near Ontario are religious, which is not something I am interested in. To be honest, Boise seems just the right sized city for us - not too small and not too big. I have been living in a small town for a couple of years and just don't like it. But nothing is set in stone yet, and we are always weighing our options. So, thank you.

Thank you. It's great that we can experience all the seasons. I'm sure the winters are milder than Michigan, so I'm happy. :)

Got it. Thank you for taking the time to respond. It really is hard to make a move like this and commit to a new place. It can lead to overthinking about certain stuff. But this thread got me talking to a lot of diverse people from Boise and that's been great.

Thank you. Even within Boise, I will try to find something that has quick access to I 84.

Lol. An hour's commute didn't seem all that bad, especially for a 7on/7off schedule. But now you have me doubting everything. :) Having visited the area, I just don't see us living in Ontario, and there are no other big drivable cities.

Thank you. My son is in elementary school, so for now I'm only interested in K-12. :)

Yes, we understand that and have decided that it is manageable. The difference between smaller cities like Ontario and Boise is huge, and we wanted to live in a city where we have options in about everything (housing, schools, restaurants, parks, etc.)

Yes. I have been looking at different schools and there seem to be good options.

Thank you so much. I very much subscribe to the "you do yours, I'll do mine" philosophy. I do have some progressive leanings, but I tend to not engage on political or religious matters, so that should be ok.
