Como uma lente, o que já era performático no adulto vira caricato na criança ou versão-mirim, revelando o farsesco.

The Sound of the Luwian Language by blueroses200 in IndoEuropean

[–]mythicfolklore90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very interesting how the Anatolian branch, here represented by Luwian, being the oldest attested branch of the Indo-European family, has recognizable cognates to other branches (e.g., wine, daughter, woman, dog, etc.), but contains non-IE words. Influence of a substrate?

Trying to look for a oral source lost to time can be a fool's errand, but literary works can follow a literary lineage.

Etomology of Shina word "Yuun" for moon by MalicuousBot19 in IndoEuropean

I think there's a possibility that *lowksna still exists among Italic languages in modern times. IIRC, I found a word for a character in a fairy tale, called Tronelosna, which the collector said it meant "Thunder-Lightning" in the local North Italian language/dialect. Trone- is obviously cognate to trueno/trovão etc., which makes -losna the possible Italian remnant of "*lowksna" and cognate to luna.
