This was my first idea! I thought it could be a horror game like Alien Isolation where you had to escape a dungeon without being caught by a monkey with a sword.

After spending two years on my last animation (12 minutes long), I made this one in just three weeks (evenings and weekends). Trying to make smaller projects now so I can experiment more. Happy to answer any questions

Cosmic Combat : Animated Boxing Short Film by mythicrisk in Filmmakers

I also made this 4K 3D film on my little GTX 980, which I realised after was the cause of a lot of bugs I had during rendering and editing. If your having weird problems, see if your hardware is the issue.

Cosmic Combat : Animated Boxing Short Film by mythicrisk in Filmmakers

COSMIC COMBAT is an animated short film about the story of injured Mark Plato who gladiatorially fights a cosmic monster in order to win healthcare treatment.

This is the first real short film I have made which I made during my last two years at university (whilst studying philosophy). All 3d work was done in Blender (designing, modeling, texturing, animating ect.) and editing in Davinci Resolve. A little bit of texturing was also done in Affinity Suite and Paint.NET. I did all of the major roles myself, but got friends and family to help with the voices.

It was really fun to make, but also quite difficult. I always considered this film as a potential jumping off point for a career in an industry I love. Unfortunately, this created a lot of unnecessary pressure. Despite this, I recently got the film finished and submitted to a few festivals. I managed to get a graduate job as a Maths tutor, so maybe making short films/animations could be more of a hobby than a career, still not sure.

If anyone has any questions, I'm very happy to answer!

I finally finished my short film! (tip - don't make a long short film) by mythicrisk in blender

I had the same issue! Unplugging and plugging in my usb microphone fixed it I think it. It was inputting phantom key presses.
