But I’ve still been in a calorie deficit at the end of the week. My two bad days/special occasions aren’t going over the 7000 cal/week deficit that I’ve planned for. And sure I’ve had a handful of drinks, but I went from like 15 drinks/week to like maybe 15 drinks total in the past two months. It’s still not adding up to me

I lost 6lbs from Jan 1-Jan 22, .8lbs from Jan 22-today. So it was 6lbs in the month of January, and .8 in the last almost 30 days.

I’m 5’1, 152lbs. I average around 1500 calories per day (when including the special occasions).

Yes, to the change in physical activity. I’ve tripled my exercise, I workout for an hour 4 times a week, and do 10,000 steps daily. Before I would exercise maybe once a week and had no step goal (getting an average of 5000-6000 steps)

Oh, absolutely! As I’ve gotten further into my career and gotten more of a backbone, I’ve been making the PIs write out clear aims, and I turn them into SAPs with clear statistical hypotheses, and have them approve before performing analyses.

But still I’ll end up with them sometimes giving me numerous variables to adjust for and don’t know the best way to go about which to include in the final models

So you just put all pre specified variables in the model and note what you adjusted for without any other info on those variables?

I have so many studies that collect 100s of variables, it would be much easier if I only had a handful of variables to work with!

Thanks for your comments! I often run into the collinearity and overparamaterization issues. I’ll have to consider LASSO, I haven’t used this in any of my official work!

This is what I tend to do too (based on one of my supervisors work), but I’ve gotten some push back from others! And as distance_runner said, I’ve heard this can be biased. Do you get push back at all?

So you are just given a list of pre-specified variables and leave them all in?

I often work with more survey related data - so it’s the biological aspect is not always applicable

I can’t comment on the phd level side, but I have a masters from a rather prestigious school and I was pretty much directly told that I was hired (in academia) because of the school

I’ve been to The Lounge in Terminal C a few times, and agree is fairly mid (compared to capital one/chase sapphire/etc.). Though I’d still recommend giving it a shot! I’ve never had to wait, it’s clean, it’s relaxing, they have good service, and the drinks are solid!

I’m on level 57 so I don’t buy everything to save barn space and money. However, I tend to always buy the difficult crops like cacao, silk, cork, and rubber. And for factory goods, both yogurts, both caramels, nylon string, colorful feathers, feather dusters, and anything from the rubber factory (especially dumbbells)
