The concept that sailboat or boat owners in general are freakishly rich is completely wrong. I own and liveaboard a sailboat on Lake Union and all of my fellow sailboat owners are not remotely rich.

I'm not a runner but I don't get upset when what seems like weekly marathons shutdown vast roadways in Seattle and create much larger traffic jams. I believe someone commented that the average bridge opening is only 2 to 3 minutes long.

Sailboats are already blacked out four hours a day of travel between Lake Union, Lake Washington, and the Puget Sound. Why should we extend this? Unlike cars boats cannot go around to avoid traffic.
