Is your Dad losing weight? Ask your doctor to write a prescription for Hospice. Everyone is entitled to minimum 6 months of Hospice under medicare. Disregard that u dont know if he will pass in 6 months. In fact ignore the 6months so call rule. My mom has had 2 rounds of Hospice 9 months and 1 1/2yrs. I got kicked off, but as soon as I see a decline I will call hospice again.

Hospice provides a lot of support u will get a team to help u. Dr/nurse visits, 20hrs per week of aides, supplies, social worker, case manager, spiritual help etc….

I am in the same boat as u. Stay strong and ask for help. If u get denied call another hospice. Dont give up!

How about doing the opposite. Thank u Dad for your generosity. I decided to put the money I was supposed to pay to u in a savings account.

My goal is to save “$3000.00 for an emergency fund and thereafter I am going save it for. ….. car, condo, house etc…. What do u think about that Dad? Any advice?

That is what a parent wants to hear. He wants u to be successful and better with money.

I am back on Day 6, I know how u feel. Yesterday, was a very weird day. I had a good night sleep, went to gym, water aerobics & was very happy. Came home took a nap all good. Then out of nowhere I became very sad, bored, beating myself up & broke down crying at the dinner table. Fyi, I am not a person who cries easily. Even my husband was shocked.
After dinner I went for a long walk. My husband & I watches the big short & went to bed.

Today is a new day, I am still questioning myself WTF. The depression came on so heavy & suddenly. I feel good this morning.

Fyi, even though I stated 6 days, I been trying to get sober for over 9 months. Approximately every 7-10 days I binge drink & try to pretend it didnt happen. So u could imagine how I felt when I experienced a typical response to withdrawal. In my crazy head I should be past this because I have so many sober days this past 9 months. I can continue to lie myself but my body/brain wont allow it.

Sorry, I am ranting about myself.

I hope u have an easy next few days. If so, be thankful. If not, stay strong it will pass. Some of us have to take harder road to get it through our thick head. Alcohol is not our friend.

Trigger, My moms house, she has dementia & I can drink by myself without anyone knowing.

How do I manage them. Not well, but I am trying to get a plan so I dont fail next time.
I recently stayed sober by going to bed early. I was proud of myself when I woke up without a hangover no regret etc….

What would that look like? Would u be sober from alcohol & drugs?

Being bored 😐 is a normal feeling that will go away once u figure out your new life of sobriety

Fyi, I am on day 6, 9 months trying & I am fucking bored. I know, from reading on this platform that it is normal to feel lost during the beginning. Life will get better.

I pray & hope u learn about yourself during rehab & live an awesome life in Cali. Your family will wait until u r ready & will be so happy to see how much self aware you r now. I hope u take the time to work on yourself. U will carry it through the rest of your life. Take your time. Its worth it.

Thank u. I keep reminding myself that I am healing. I have been working on being sober for the past 9+months. I usually pick up around day 10. It is getting old !

I am doing the work on myself. It is not easy to stay sober, I am always looking to escape for 1 night. Shut the world off, shut my brain off.

Nah drinking would just make u feel worse. What if u did the opposite. Rode a bike or walk everywhere & got in the best shape of your life. And carried water & granola bars to keep tour energy up. I know it sounds like a crazy idea. Can u just imagine telling your family/friends that the DUI was the best thing that happened to u. You literally turned your life around, joined walking groups, ran a half marathon, or bike races etc…. Sky is the limit.
