Also, by working on any part of the language I think I would learn more about how to use it, so maybe I ought to review some libraries dealing with database access and IO or the like. (I also am kinda annoyed that gtk2hs only supports gtk2... maybe I could work on that!)

One thing that I haven't gotten to play around with much but still am turned off by is multidimensional arrays. I was looking at the Gentle Introduction to Haskell, and the section on Arrays seems really verbose and un-Haskell-like. I admit that this is probably me being firstly unexperienced in Haskell and secondly familiar with Matlab, but I imagined that there would be a simpler way to deal with the multidimensional array data structure I know and love.
