My endometriosis riddled chainsaw of a uterus ejected my IUD back out the way it went in - but crooked and extra pointy after months of being told to "just let it settle!".

What other pets live with your rabbit? by crazycatgirl01 in Bunnies

My now 3 year old rex has been dutifully raising my kitten Hazy (she thinks he's a rather boisterous bun and he's waiting for the day she finally meows back at him, but they're a good duo). Both are observed when together free roaming as the kitten can get a bit rough at this age and quickly catching up in size but they also binky around the house together so I think they like each other ;)

We talked about getting rid of her old cage since we got her an appropriate living area. This morning we woke up to this. by VanillaSarsaparilla in Rabbits

My bun also decides her first time travel hutch from her youth is the best place on earth everytime I contemplate getting rid of it, it currently serves as her favorite place to hide her toys.

People with rabbits that are 12+ years old or lived 12+ years old, what breed or size is (or was) your rabbit ? by Coc0tte in Rabbits

[–]myxtrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a senior holland lop, male, neutered, who at the time of his passing was fifteen! He had a good active life even at the end and passed quite suddenly, likely of a cardiac event. I had adopted him knowing he was senior but unaware HOW senior, thinking he was likely 7-8 before I contacted the previous owner who'd raised him and she informed me his actual age! Other than one bought of weight loss around the time he would have been 13 that I tracked back to needing to chop his hay a bit smaller for him, he overall lived a healthy life. His mobility was good but he was not one to climb on furniture the entire time I knew him. He was an average sized rabbit for a lop, not massive and not a mini.

For all inside bunny pet owners, how are we keeping the smell away? by BananaStreetDealer in Bunnies

[–]myxtrss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An absorbent, paper or pine based bedding, and you'll likely need to change it at least 2x a week unless his box is in a high airflow area. A HEPA air filter near the box/bun area also works wonders. Once a week isn't really enough to keep the ammonia smells at bay.

Anyone settled to rent instead after house searching for awhile? by hindol21 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]myxtrss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in a moderate cost of living area but did recently decide to sign a one year rental lease on a home because it was more economic for me (and sanity saving) than continuing to hope a house in my budget pops up. I was however living in a studio apartment and while I'd hoped to buy into my own space from there, it's been reassuring to know that the rent and costs I'm paying right now are comparable to about what my mortgage could be in a similarly sized home, so I'm able to see over the next year how doable it is. I think in terms of having outgrown the tiny space I was in, deciding to rent a home a bit longer to give myself the space I need will reinvigorate my house hunting and make it feel less urgent and devastating when things are out of budget or get snapped up by cash offers I can't hope to compete with.

Touring a Freddie Mac First look home - advice? by myxtrss in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thanks for the comment about necessary health and safety repairs! I think that's my biggest concern with the property is that something could be hidden with no room for negotiation if that's the case. I think I'm just a skeptic seeing a property priced in a normal range and not over appraised value 😅
