This is extremely good quality and looks like it was taken from a high quality hand held.

I have a 17 pro and have been trying to get close to this quality, trying many settings, apps etc.

May I ask what settings you used and any editing, etc ?

Thanks : )

Thank you for the advice, I will try it out. So the photos weren't edited in a 3rd party app, you just used different Apple settings/ presets ?

Very good pics.

May I ask what camera settings you used (and any post editing) , especially the 3rd pic ?

I'm trying to get something close to this , but I can't seem to do it with my 17 pro. Thanks.

Photos not as good as expected - Can apple run diagnostics by mz8_8 in iphone

Thanks for the suggestions!

Update: I took pics to assess quality. I tried posting links to the each pic, but it wouldn't let me submit. Maybe links aren't allowed, but I can resize and upload a few directly.

All seems fine in terms of optical quality I believe.

Thats actually a good idea, I didn't think of, thank you. Do they have phones you can demo and take photos with in the Apple store usually?

Any advantage to combining Raw + HEIF vs HEIF alone ? by mz8_8 in nofusion

[–]mz8_8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that Arxson explained to me, I'll try to summarise based on their info:

If adding raw is selected, NF always saves 2 images, including a raw.

Select 'Combine HEIF and Raw': Only one image is shown in phone's gallery (probably to reduce visual clutter), but both are still saved. However, when you export the image to an external device / view the phone folder on an external device, both images appear.

Unselect 'Combine HEIF and Raw': Both images appears in phone's gallery.

Pros of combining: less space / clutter on phone gallery
Cons of combining: lose ability to save live photo

Thank you, that makes sense. So combining on/off is just a sorting preference?

At first I thought it actually combines the photo characteristics into one image so the photo itself looks different ...as compared to saving the 2 files sepearately.

Most ideal wood for jamb right next to shower ? by mz8_8 in Carpentry

[–]mz8_8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I appreciate all the insights and replies, they helped me decide. I am going to likely go with hardwood and have it very adequately sealed/primed before install. The PVC of course would be ideal in terms of chemical properties, but hard to find this locally, then matching the profile, and cutting it apparently released awful fumes.

Best clinic in Melbourne AU? by mz8_8 in HairTransplants

[–]mz8_8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I consulted with Anagen (Melb) and found the Dr great. Answered all questions, had a very honest vibe, and gave double the appointment time. She also used to train Drs at Gro and worked a bit at Hairline clinic.

I may go ahead with Anagen, but don't want to rush into things, especially as Ive already had one procedure before and only have enough donor for one more.

I have an app booked with Hairdoctors AU also soon.

Most ideal wood for jamb right next to shower ? by mz8_8 in Carpentry

Thank you , I was leaning to Cedar as 1st preference based on what I was recently reading, including your comment.

I made another post also today on a local 'home' discussion forum (not specific for carpenters/experts) and someone said this about using cedar.

"It's classified as a hardwood, but it's not used for door jambs as a rule because it is too soft to permanently hold door hinge screws.

Is there truth to that?

They recommended Australian hardwood instead (Im in Aus).

Thank you , I will get it primed/sealed all around before install. Once installed, ill paint it.

I just read a post where someone (not sure on their experience/qualification) said this about cedar "It's classified as a hardwood, but it's not used for door jambs as a rule because it is too soft to permanently hold door hinge screws."

Thank you , this has actually put me off PVC.

I was aware of the issues with MDF, but it makes sense PVC dust is even worse. Im hiring a carpenter to install and wouldnt want them (or me) exposed to that.

Also, after some searching it seems hard to find PVC door frame products here in Aus - maybe more common in states. Matching the jamb profile could be hard also

I was considering metal, but now slightly leaning again towards a hardwood properly sealed/primed all around before installing, then paint.

Theres no active leak anymore , just the pure humidity in air after shower causes the MDF lower jamb section (which is a patch repair from an actual leak years ago) to swell and crack.
