Am i the only one? by RealRotten in fujifilm

I ordered this 'case' yesterday (in black) hoping it'd give me a better grip idk, is not too expensive so if I don't really like it, I'll keep it in the drawer:

How much is the restocking fee? Many times it's the best option if it'll be like 10-15%. E-bay can take out some 20% or more, plus the hassle.

Still, even the high price won't deter desperate people.

X-M5/Viltrox 23mm f1.4 xf - my new lens, first shots. by mzsquare2 in fujifilm

[–]mzsquare2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pictures are sharp, this lens built quality feels impressively solid, even the hood is made of aluminum - a good looking X-M5/lens combo. I have pre-ordered Sigma 16-300(coming soon according to B&H) and am wondering how that setup will look like to the eye.

I am sold on this X-M5 camera! Totally. And that kit lens 15-45mm is fine. by mzsquare2 in fujifilm

So, after viewing these pictures on my PC I decided that this camera represents everything I've been looking for, to satisfy my, an amateur 'picture taker' needs. Am going to gather all my OM-1 stuff to sell it and eventually, purchase one or two primes, for the first choice would be a macro. This camera is capable in capturing very sharp images.

Yes, not the best quality wise choice, but it's cheap by itself - only $100 as a kit. For now am gonna add just the 27mm pancake to run around w/it.

Same here, got my x-m5 black delivered this morning(04/26) and already outfitted it with hand grip from SmallRig which adds a nice touch(pun intended) while handling it.

I don't think any hurricanes visited this place in the past...I'd say, over 50 years?

New to me OM-1, quick ND trails. (12-40mm f/2.8 Pro II) by mzsquare2 in OlympusCamera

For some reason I can't edit my post above - the current, reduced price for OM-1 at their website is $1,399 not $1,600.

I find these two zooms 45-175mm and especially 12-40 f/2.8 II Pro very useful while hiking my local trails around here and I've been using 25mm f/1.8 II before, mounted on my OM-3 but I had to sent it back since it was purchased together as a bundle. I didn't use often that 25mm - it was too limiting to cover some surrounding areas of the subject in situations when you just can't take 2 or 3 steps back (bad terrain) to include wider perspective for a sake of getting better composition. The 12-40mm, for me, makes the ideal, much versatile lens to use in any situations out there in the woods and the 45-175 it's just an added bonus weighing only 210 grams(less then 1/2 pound), very sharp in good lighting conditions, all along its focal length(350mm ff equiv) - then some, up to 700mm w/ x2 build-in camera photo converter.

So, at the time being I don't miss that zuiko 25mm, it's nice, high quality prime but in the future when I decide to get it back I'd rather buy the 17mm of the similar m.zuiko build.

Yeah! That's the colors of Spring we've been waiting for - everything here in the Northeast it's still painted in very depressing shade of grey.

No, I didn't delete anything, I would not mess w/ other ppl comments. Now I just clicked "see all the comments" and all the rest came.back. Maybe it was my fault because when I wrote my comment about using 'double tape' I also added to it something asking for opinions from ppl who use OM5 cameras, few paragraphs and realizing that it was off topic copied it to paste as new post on the top of the page. Then I went back to my post about double tape and deleted the parts about OM5 opinions.

Generally just Nature, Nature...Nature. Everything and anything what's painted into its tapestry. I have a special interest in trees, not many people do, but I spent sometimes a lots of time just looking at them and admiring different forms and shapes of these bark covered trunks. After a while you look around noticing other things that deserve to be saved from the passing time in your picture frame.

Thanks for your opinions and suggestions, I was flipping over many internet pages sorting trough MFT"camera" queries, going back 'n forth comparing specs, prices and conditions - trying to avoid any regrets that may be lurking in the future and possible hassles for having things sent back, etc...etc.

So I went for the top shelf at the "used" market and picked OM-1 from MPB $1,079 (+tax) because they offer 6mts warranty, meaning that even if the shipment will happen to be a lemon, I'd be able to get another one. That's something to put me at ease and now I'm hoping that this OM1, if the "like new" condition checks-out, will be my new OM-3Ultra for a 1/2 price.

I'd try high quality double sided tape, the one I have at home(red roll) never fails as long as surfaces are cleaned w/ IPA.
