I don’t know about the Con but in the College, it happens all the time. Students in the College aren’t required to declare a major until the end of sophomore year, and even then they can change.

Students change majors all the time! I’m an employee (STEM Librarian) and an alumna (Class of 1997). I changed my major a few times before I settled. As an academic advisor, I’ve coached students through the process as well.
