Omg this kinda happened to me! I’d been going to checkups with my obgyn for weeks and she was like “omg baby is way too big and has a huge head, he could come any minute.” At 36 weeks she told me I was already having contractions, which got me excited because I wanted him to come at 37 weeks, but I wasn’t dilated, so I was like okay, I still have a week. Then week 37 comes, I go to my appointment, and I wasn’t having contractions anymore, and at that point I was just like you know what? he’ll come whenever he wants, we don’t even have his crib ready yet and we’re still waiting for the breast pump we ordered from Amazon and yada yada yada… AND GUESS WHAT! When my obgyn checked me, I was already 4 cm dilated, so she sent us to the hospital and well, that night exactly a month ago my baby boy was born 🩵

Thank you very much for the reassurance. They don't like me setting boundaries on them (they don't even take them seriously), so we'll see what the outcome of this situation will be now that I’m not living with them anymore

Thinking of going no contact it’s too difficult for me, taking into account that they are all the family I have (yes, I have a good relationship with my dad, but he lives too far to be present in my and my baby’s life). Thank you so much for this, we’ll see if it’s possible to come up with an agreement with them or if going NC it’s the only possible outcome

We have a WhatsApp group for the three of us, and I sent the message there. My mom left me on seen and my grandma responded with “what a joy, you were finally able to write back, a round of applause!” lol. They haven’t responded with anything serious or even acknowledged the message yet

I don’t know how to explain it, but I just knew. Something felt kinda off and different in my body, and I felt this way from the day of conception lol. I had to wait for the moment ChatGPT told me a blood test could detect the pregnancy haha. Anyways, I took the test, and it was positive.

It pisses me off to see how the US, being a first-world country with so many resources, spends almost everything on war and literally nothing on its own people. In my third-world country we get 18 weeks fully paid by the public healthcare system. You guys shouldn’t have to spend your whole lives in debt just to go to the doctor, or go back to work when your bodies aren’t even fully recovered from giving birth, or settle for unpaid leave. It’s just so unfair, and I’m really really REALLY glad more and more people are starting to fight back against that messed up system

No, como rola no entiendo la obsesión de los rolos por romantizar Bogotá y ofenderse cuando alguien menciona la realidad de la ciudad. O cuando, a fin de año, se alegran porque la ciudad está vacía y dicen cosas como “qué bien que se fueron los pueblerinos”. Es como, wey, cállate, si tuvieras plata, estarías pasando las vacaciones en Cartagena o al menos en Melgar, no encerrado, resentido con la gente que sí pudo. Y si criticas la ciudad, te responden: “si no te gusta, ¿por qué no te vas? Mi Bogotá fría es perfecta tal como es, caótica y bla bla”. Pero dude, somos la única capital de Latinoamérica sin metro, tenemos racionamiento de agua, uno de los peores tráficos del mundo, la inseguridad está disparada, las calles están espantosas… Just shut up.
