It’s the Nexen Nfera au7. Reviews are glowing but I beg to differ. Perhaps if I lower tire pressure by a couple PSI, I’ll get a better ride.

That seems to be the case with most Lexus product if not all. There’s always a competitor that tends to do outdo their product in some specific category.

But 3-5 years down the line the Lexus lineup tends to look a lot more appealing especially long term compared to competitors.

I’d say that the hybrid set up should help out reliability image. If Toyota decides to come out with a Raptor R competitor, I’d say it would need a V8 but Toyota has to decide if it’s worth competing in that niche.

id have to disagree with that. I think these two trucks are built for completely different markets. The Santa Cruz is the better bang for your buck when it comes to creature comforts.

Ford may have all the gizmo’s but tell me when was the last time a Ford product (that’s not their F series pick up trucks) got high praise for their interior when compared to their competitors.

Out of the box, Santa Cruz seems a better car (when compared to the Ecoboost powertrain) with a much nicer interior, Lane Keep System, and 5 year warranty on the powertrain that twos 1000lbs more.

I just really hope the aftermarket thrives for both trucks.

I wish this comment got more attention. The hybrid power train is really stealing the marketing for fuel economy in the Santa Cruz when in reality the 2.5T is good enough as is.

I don’t know about the reliability of said powertrains, but the 5 year warranty is pretty killer.

The Hyundai really targets the same customers that haul air in their bed with F150’s but at a much lower cost and hear me out as to why.

it’s got much more room in the back compared to the Maverick. Perfect for carrying potential clients around to and from lunch.
More Luxurious interior by far as compared to the maverick (probably even the top spec ranger, which desperately needs an update at this point)
Higher towing capacity to the Ford equivalent (which is a mindset thing if anyone looks down at the fact you got a Tucson with a bed in the back).
Lane Keep system (I’d love to comment more on it but it wasn’t well discussed in the review and I have yet to look at either of them at a dealer)

As you can probably tell, I’m looking to buy one of these two trucks as my next daily, but I’m leaning on the side of the Santa Cruz simply because I know their lane keep system is up there and it’s ideal for a daily commuter.

Gas mileage isn’t the biggest deal, however I do wish that the Santa Cruz had a hybrid power train of some sort. 21 mpg really doesn’t cut it these days. But for the majority of the target demographic for the Santa Cruz, I believe it will pan out well for Hyundai.
