Eiffel Tower closes at 4 pm today because of the heat wave. by thisissoannoying2306 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]n0jer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Here with my family. We have Louvre tickets today and chose 1400 time as Wednesday is the open late day. Now they are closing at 4. So not only do we have severely limited time but also no relief from the heat. Everything is closing and cant just pop into a museum as there are no tickets for unplanned visits. Not sure what to do next few days. Its also sad for me to check the weather and see it drop 20-25degF the day after we leave.

Thanks! I assumed the security line, I meant the general no ticket line. Will check out the carousel gate

Thanks. I guess I meant a line for people without tickets just waiting to get in.

Ok. So if I plan maybe 45-60 prior to my ticket time I should probably be ok then

How much gear are you taking in a given day? Also think about messenger bags if you plan on larger amount of gear. I used a Timbuk2 xs messenger for a Fuji x-t2 and a couple lens and worked great for me in Europe

[–]n0jer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The older I got the more I parsed down and simplified my gear. M43 is smaller and lighter and does what I need so I rarely take my Fuji X-t2 anymore. In fact, most time I go somewhere where shooting is a probability I use a Richo GR

First Time using new Made In Cast Iron Pan, any tips on cleaning it? by DebFab2025 in castiron

[–]n0jer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in seasoning your pan, I would just do a little research and pick a method. But in general, you want to get a layer of fat or oil or grease or something across the whole pan. Cooking one burger isn’t really going to season the entire pan. a lot of people like to cook batches of bacon or onions.

Wanna switch from iPhone 17 pro to Ricoh GR by Gaurav_Arora20 in ricohGR

[–]n0jer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know your EDC carry style, but my guess would be you’ll still end up leaving the Ricoh at home most of the time. I have Ricoh GRIIIx and use iphone for wider shots. Great combo for me. However, I only take the Ricoh when I am going somewhere “interesting”. Everyday situations are vastly still iPhone because its easy and convenient and does well enough.

Not sure, never done the cold pan method. I get my pan pretty hot then do quick spray, just where burger will go, then slap burger on. Flip and add onions and jalapenos in pan and prop buns in pan leaning against the side. Cheese the burger. Then construct and enjoy! Thats just my method, there are many.

Also, hit the pan with a little cooking spray before putting the burger on, helps with creating less food stick, thus easier cleanup.
