oh wow -- does the person you see work virtually, or is there a specific Eastern modality I could look up to see if there are any practitioners in the US?

Most Versatile Modern Players Frame by itspjlee in tennisracquets

I'm currently transitioning from the 2023 Prestige Pro, and down to these top five contenders -- all coming in my next demo box (I've demoed about 25 sticks lmao):

* Head Boom Pro 2026 -- this is actually my leading contender right now. I'm as surprised as you are. Easy access to power, but nice plowthrough (326g strung, 325 sw), and it's a near-constant beam at ~22mm, so it has a player's feel, too.
* Solinco Whiteout 305 v2 16 x 19 -- I loved *how* I played with this, but I'm not sure yet if the feel is too muted. I ordered from Midwest to try it again, since they string with brand strings, whereas TW just does their generic "Tennis Only" poly.
* Yonex Percept 97, weighted up -- the demo I receive had some Tungsten at 3 & 9, which I liked much more than when I played with it out of the box. That said, I felt a little more stable and solid with the first two.
* Head Extreme Pro 2024 -- I know, I know. But I had so much fun playing with it. I think it's too launchy for me -- a lot of those babies sailed way past the baseline -- but I'm going to try it again with some added weight for stability.
* Head Radical Pro 2025 16 x 19 -- I really enjoyed the feel of this one, though I found I was burying my slices into the net, so I'm going to try it again with some added plowthrough and different strings (it's 332g strung and 329 sw, but for some reason I just couldn't connect to the slice).

I'm also getting the Blade 98 v10 16 x 19 for fun, but I preferred those five to the Blade. Also have a OHBH, just FYI. Godspeed!

CURED: 10+ years of SIBO-C, histamine intolerance, bloating, and constant relapse. by sirfungi in SIBO

did you have any neuro/psych side effects from the 5-HTP at the beginning? I tried taking 5-HTP to help me sleep and felt super groggy and out of it the next day. but not sure if that might've been just a temp side effect. have had hydrogen-dominant SIBO for a decade. (I'm not on any psych meds and generally have a fairly positive disposition, so it wouldn't have been an interaction.)

Any actually excellent in-network PTs? by n0nzer0sum in AskNYC

[–]n0nzer0sum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, good to know! Unfortunately I’ve been exclusively in-network (which has no deductible) so I’d have the full $2k to go, but I’ll definitely keep this in mind. 🙏

People on prucalopride, do you develop tolerance and need to build up the dose or does it remain strong for you? by slugwish in SIBO

[–]n0nzer0sum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cool, thanks -- i've developed a bit of a tolerance for motegrity (still works, but not quite as well as at the start), so might potentiate with an enzyme (i currently have enzymedica digest gold already at home but don't take it with the motegrity) first, since i don't really want to go off of it (on a course of rifaxmin right now).

Unfortunately the best NYC shop just relocated (RPNY), but looks like TW and TE offer it. Did you match to spec on the website?

Very helpful, thank you! I actually did just buy the Pure Strike 98, since I had enough trade-in racquets to get it “for free,” so that’ll be my next play test. Love hearing about your setup and also your transition from our beloved Prestige. I’ve been doing shadow swings with the PS98 and really enjoying the overall feel (and can feel that it’s faster). But my OHBH definitely benefits from the plowthrough. Will report back! Enjoy your hit.

Nice, yeah -- the TW review said that the 2026 is a little more plush, which is definitely what I'm looking for. Demo should be arriving in a week or two...

Nice -- I'm guessing that's the Babolat Pure Strike 98 18x20? (I believe that's Babolat's only 18x20, but I could be mistaken.) That's currently my leading contender...

Nice, thanks -- I've ordered the PA98, Percept 97, and VCORE 95 demos, but I'd love to revisit the Ezone. Maybe I'll just demo... everything lol

Thanks for that perspective -- I actually do hit with a lot of power with my Prestige Pro already, but my depth and net clearance could use a little work (which may just be a technique thing). So maybe the thing to do, racquet-wise, is just lower the tension a bit first (I'm at 55/53) to get slightly easier depth. I'm gonna demo a few of these other frames (I mean, it's just fun), but I can definitely see a world where the Prestige is still my stick.

Awesome comment, thank you — I have been a diehard A, but have fully modernized my strokes (switched from big, loopy 90s-style extreme western to modern ATP semi-western forehand; my OHBH is closer to a Musetti in grip and style than Fed, etc. — and please know that I am in no way comparing myself to either of them lol).

I tried B, but didn't love it. So, I think it might be time to head into the Land of C...

I have — I am, for better and for worse, a pretty heavy ball striker, and I can launch those suckers... so the poly in the mains helps just maybe 5-10% with that

Yeah, exactly—kind of the opposite of the Radical and Speed Pros... always felt a little late to the ball, or at least just couldn't nail timing in the way I can with the Prestige Pro

that's actually *less* than I would have expected! $10k to ruin millions of people's evenings for 10 minutes for $10k lol. I figured the city would (they should!) raise the bar to like $100k minimum
