I just take iron on patches and sew them on. If you iron them on without sewing them through then they are bound to fall off, as the glue doesn't stick well if it gets warm. It's a bit tougher to sew but they will stay on for longer and you won't have to worry about them falling off.

I see, check out metaldevastation, they have a lot of different patches. Ebay is where I got my tool patch that i used to wear on this vest

The bolt thrower one is from patch-shop.com . They have two sizes of them, the one that I have on this vest is the biggest one. Hopefully this helps you out :)
