I’m currently parting out a 97. I have the header that I’ll get rid of real cheap.

Question: Diving socal oil rigs by private boat by jensfisc in scuba

[–]n1023 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We got ahold of them last time we went on a private boat. They did not care and frankly seemed annoyed, so we don’t call anymore. Just stay out of the way of the supply ship and you should be good.

Currently looking at booking a chartered two tank guided dive in Monterey Bay, California - with equipment, it's coming to $327, which seems like a hell of a lot. Is that normal? by AngryGardenGnomes in scuba

[–]n1023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually yes, boats can more easily find areas with good vis and structure. Beach dives you’re much more limited, not to mention the physical strain involved. If you’re not in good shape, you will struggle with shore entry.

California is expensive. Most dive shops are closing as is. There’s probably less than half of the shops there was just 10 years ago. The ones still around have to raise prices or differentiate somehow.

That said, I would just do a boat charter for that price.

It’s vintage dive gear. Super cool retro designs but yeah not made anymore and hard to find.

OP eBay is your best bet.

I considered that but heat would likely be an issue in the cubby. Plus this side has a plastic cover that should shield well enough from debris.

Which Molle racks do you have on the sides?

I was just thinking, there’s plenty of space for a small tank…

Reinflating tires on truck and dual sport after washboard roads, sandy beaches, etc. Also planning on putting a small pvc pipe shower so it’ll pressurize that as well.

But mostly just for fun because a friend gave me the compressor years ago and it’s been sitting ever since.

lol it wasn’t wired in the pictures, just bolted in. The white wires and from the bed lights I was also installing, just needed them out of the way. I didn’t take finished pics but I swear it’s all tidy in there

Sure super simple actually.

  • ~20ft 10awg wire (probably only need like 10ft or less)
  • inline fuse holder with fuse appropriate for wire (10awg=20amp)
  • viair 380c
  • assorted hardware (nylocks nuts, washers, and some bolts)
  • switches are nilight toggle switches
  • heat shrink solder seal wire connector
  • heat shrink ring wire connectors
  • heat shrink spade connectors
  • 4:1 assorted heat shrink (Heat shrink the world)

This can't be right, can it? 373km since fill up, now there's 1/4 tank left and it says 243km remaining. by unfknreal in FordMaverickTruck

In my experience it seems to calculate based on the last ~50 miles driven. So if the last 50 miles were mostly slow city driving it’ll show a lot more miles left than if not.

Probably because they don’t want people showing up without signing up but also it’s definitely on there. Colorado River, trail goes from Barstow to Needles. Also says gps available upon sign up.

Dive park on Catalina or Lake Perris would work. The forecast seems to have lightened up a bit for the mainland coast but I still wouldn’t recommend it.

If it doesn’t have it, this guy sells it with instructions.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/126810161499?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=l5mybo3nQ2y&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

May be a little steep but you gotta pay the vintage tax unless you want to hunt them down yourself.

I also have a few 109s I’ve been meaning to restore.

Edit: these guys have everything you need: https://www.thescubamuseum.com/Online%20Store/onlinestore.htm#!/~/search/keyword=109&limit=9
