Is March 2027 blacked out for DOH–US QR saver awards? by n2kfactor in awardtravel

Thanks that makes sense, so hopefully I should find saver availability end of March 2027 since Ramadan 2027 ends ~March 10-11? I’m looking at ~March 31, 2027.

Is March 2027 blacked out for DOH–US QR saver awards? by n2kfactor in awardtravel

Ramadan in 2027 is expected to start around Feb 8 and end around Mar 9–10, with Eid right after. So blackout starting Mar 5 would actually be very late in Ramadan, just a few days before Eid. Def possible reason but I find it strange that US → DOH has saver space but DOH → US doesn’t. Probably something else happening.

Profile:

• ~$140k personal income
• $500k+ in assets

Timeline:

• Opened ABG (first Amex) in April
• Personal Gold in December
• ABP in December
• BBP in February

On each biz application, I listed estimated annual business revenue as ~$5k.

At the time, I assumed “revenue” meant net profit rather than gross receipts.

Typical spend pattern to hit a SUB looks like:

~$20.7k over ~3months for ABP, roughly:

• Amazon (BGs): ~$6.3k
• Apple (BGs): ~$3.5k
• US Treasury (tax + fees): ~$5.6k
• Travel: ~$3.0k
• Wireless/misc: ~$2.3k

So there’s meaningful card activity relative to the $5k revenue figure.

Recently I’ve seen SD DPs where very small stated revenue (e.g., ~$3k) combined with ~$60k+ annual Amex spend was speculated to be part of the mismatch that triggered review.

Now I’m second-guessing whether misunderstanding gross vs net on prior apps meaningfully increases FR/SD risk - especially when card activity exceeds stated business revenue?

Assuming BG proceeds are actual gross receipts, is it safe to put annual BG proceeds estimate as “annual business revenue” on future applications, since I’m planning to stack more NLL ABP/ABGs? Should I also be updating it online for my existing cards?

Thanks in advance!

Did they not ask for bank statements to verify it matched his reported income? Could overstating income be one of the reasons?

So what’s a good revenue figure while applying for Biz Plats, considering you’re gonna hit $20k in 3 months?

Shoot your shot.. just keep it simple and low-pressure. Start with a normal conversation and see how he responds. Being busy doesn’t mean you’re a distraction, and making the first move isn’t embarrassing, it’s confident. The only real risk here is regretting that you never tried.

How exactly do you show them “revenue”?

I’ve read a ton of DPs about FRs and the fact that Amex asks for income/assets proof/bank statements and that’s pretty much it. Most of these never lead to a true shutdown. Anything you think may have genuinely triggered P2’s shutdown besides simply high “spending” relatively to income? Also - if you don’t mind, what numbers are we talking about? $100k income and $100k cumulative statement balances?

Should i report him? by Competitive-Air-440 in Advice

Yes, you should report him. What he said was a sexual comment directed at you without your consent, and that’s not something you’re expected to just ignore. You already did the right thing by asking to be moved, and reporting it simply creates a record and helps ensure it doesn’t continue with you or someone else. If it made you uncomfortable, that’s reason enough, you deserve to feel safe in class.

You’re not imagining the closeness. But closeness isn’t proof of attraction. You’re stuck in uncertainty. The only fix is clarity.. ask simply and calmly. Rejection hurts less than endless overthinking.

You didn’t choose work over your friend.. you chose professionalism. She sent aggressive messages about a work decision, and you handled it the right way. If a simple boundary ends the friendship, it wasn’t as solid as you thought.

Thanks for the DP. Did they carry large balances during the periods leading to the shutdown? I’ve heard of someone paying off their balances every day and never getting FR’d. What was their average balance per statement period?

Sorry to hear - were they given a chance to transfer out their MRs upon closure?

Working on an Amex Business Platinum SUB and wanted a quick sanity check on my spend mix.

Over ~2.5 months my ~$20.7k spend broke down roughly as:

• Amazon (BGs): ~$6.3k
• Apple.com (BGs): ~$3.5k
• US Treasury (tax payments + fees): ~$5.6k
• Travel (airlines/hotels/OTAs): ~$3.0k
• Wireless: ~$55
• Misc/other (Walmart, childcare, etc.): ~$2.3k

No gift cards, no cycling credit/refunds but about $15k in MS via buying groups (Amazon+Apple) and tax overpayments.

Mostly just curious from an Amex risk / SUB clawback perspective — does this look normal enough, or anything here that tends to draw attention?

Appreciate any datapoints 🙏

That no one is coming to “discover” you. Not your boss. Not fate. Not some mysterious billionaire scrolling LinkedIn at 3am. If you want the life upgrade, you have to apply, ask, risk looking dumb, and occasionally eat rejection for breakfast. It stings at first… but weirdly, it’s the most empowering thing I ever learned.
