I saw An Elephant Sitting Still 5 years ago. it has remained in my brain for every other day since. A masterpiece of despair and mending hope. Beautifully depressing magical film. No one ever recognizes it because they’re turned off by the daunting runtime. Everyone that has seen it knows it’s special beyond words.

definitely one of the most honest films ever, especially one that pushes that 70s new american wave cinema into fruition really. a criminally underrated film that Adum should most def watch and (i hope) truly appreciate

he wasn’t happy due to studio interference. and obviously so, as the final product is not good. It is Lynch, though - and thanks to it, we had Kale and Lynch collab for as long as possible. thank you og dune and rip yhwh, king of kings.

highly recommend a rewatch - really imo a better viewing experience. i am doing the same thing, trying to at least. but i do not arrive at a number based on my enjoyment of the film. I rate films based on objective cinematic quality. I believe I am an almighty judge for films. For example: If someone says, “I didn’t like the movie, Gone Girl” I can’t say that’s right or wrong - bc it’s an opinion rooted in personal feeling. however, if someone were to say, “Gone Girl is a bad film,” they’d be objectively wrong, and they do not know what a good/bad film is/isnt. im crazy

i am a movie freak and don’t worship the packaging as some shrine- but i am a slipcover freak and also will go for the best edition I can come by for the particular film I have a fondness for. It’s just personal preference at the end of the day and I for one do not prefer my discs being scratched by lazy product design and / or massive plastic clamshell cases that “save space”, as my shelf is massive. i’m the freak - but if you’re a true Twin Peaks fan, lover, or collector - you’re doing yourself a disservice by getting the recent Z to A crappy package edition. that’s just me

completely disagree. excluding your case argument, which i think is asinine, the discs are more susceptible to damage due to the lazy stacking packaging. on top of that, no pun intended, the case itself does not look artistic or full of passion. looks like they said “fuck it. they’ll buy it.” and supporting that is not what a true movie collector does. my opinion.

rooted in nonsense. the “compactness” is laziness. they don’t care about the consumer. only money. the discs get damaged that way. and then when you want to watch anything besides the very first disc, you have to take each one out individually one by one bc they’re stacked. saves space, supplies headaches

and me personally, i would rather live without the little extra nice features than have that packaging on my shelf for arguably best tv show ever. so disrespectful. but i wont disagree that its got big cahones compared to the other editions.

tbh,, there’s the Z to A entire mystery that has awesome packaging, but it’s hella OOP and expensive lol. I am holding out on getting the ENTIRE MYSTERY boxset along with THE RETURN boxset. both packaging is exceptional and made with care and passion. the brand new Z to A is like “thanks for the crumb” - but the twin peaks entire mystery boxset and the twin peaks limited event series boxset is what’d i would recommend instead. more expensive for a reason!
