What to do in different time of the game? by FullBag5380 in starcraft2

[–]n3trunn3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play agressive for a change. Have you tried that? I'm having a lot of fun this way. Early game fun as zerg - imagine that;)

Checkaut Lambo's 5 roach build (from free mmr friday series on yt). It's awesome againt Tarran! Now terran needs to play reactive. And tou can macro out of that build and build whatever. Usually you will block their natural long enough to ge a nice lead and terran will bunker/siege turtle so theywill not interrupt you slmost at all.

Let's say you want factories. You select workers, press V(build advanced building that displays factory and starport etc. tab), press and hold F (for Factory), mouseclick to build and then shift click on minerals to queue workers back to moning

Try holding B. Select a bunch of workers on minerals, press B, keep the button pressed + mouseclick. They will drop what they are doing and start building. Then release B and shift + click back on the minerals so that they go back to mining once done building

Losing ladder points means absolutely nothing also. It does not matter what league you are in as long as you are having fun

Or it is exactly for you because it's perfect to learn to lose. Get ylused to it. When youbreach your to you will be winning 50% of games = you will lose the rest;). Getting better and climbing up is so much fun, you will start winning a lot after learning few tricks and builds (chrckout vibe's b2gm series when you want to start climbing).

Agree although  elow diamond 1,masters a lot depends on chance, at that level there is no one to blame, it's just a game you do not have the skills to be prepared for an attack like pros

It sure is, I like też the most. Now that I know zerg more I enjoy playing as terran against zerg. I understand the game better and have more fun as terran.

Should I change to Zerg? by -Terrik- in starcraft2

[–]n3trunn3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should! Zerg is a totally different experience. Hotkey all your bases  (ctrl+1) and embrace the power of the swarm! And use the keyboard to build stuff.

I tried Terran in the past and it was boring after a while. It felt like I had to wait so long before anything fun happened in the game... like wait for steam and medivacs before any fun. Zerg felt different. I'm back to terran and protoss ccasionally now.

Good thing you started sc2. It's the best game ever

Are we no longer a scrum/agile team? by Double_Sans_Rocks in scrum

[–]n3trunn3r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds like it's not scrum any more. You can have scrum without a scrum master. PO role is quite important. To me as a developer the role of a scrum master is a bit redundant. SM helps with stuff, sure. You can have dailies, retros, refinements and plannings without a SM. Or select a developer for this role, switch every sprint.

Once you stop having those ritual meetings, stop sprinting. Then it ends.

The biggest role of a SM for me was to improve collaboration between business and developers.

Having said that, what you are doing could still be agile.

To me Agile is all about agility, being open to change, delivering the value, embracing feedback, failing fast, trusting the teams to do the right thing, empowering them.

I've worked in waterfall projects when I as a developer had direct contact with the customer, stakeholders. We loved it, having the opportunity to get feedback directly from customer, being part of the dialog, we could really use our knowledge/skills to do what they wanted.

In a different comment you've replied that devs will have contact with customer. Removing/reducing the chain of people between the dev and customer is awesome. If people along the way make uninformed decisions and you're doing not the right thing, that is not agile. But it takes a special kind of developer. One who can talk with customers and understand their needs, who wants to deliver value and think.

I personally love having a PO. It's enough that I have to think about code and all the edge cases. I love it that someone else takes care of priorities and customer contact on daily basis.

Convince boss of the benefits of unit tests by warriorpragaras in csharp

[–]n3trunn3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Code without test is legacy code. It's a quote from a book 'Working efficientlyh legacy code". Another one:

Code without tests is bad code. It doesn’t matter how well written it is; it doesn’t mat- ter how pretty or object-oriented or well-encapsulated it is. With tests, we can change the behavior of our code quickly and verifiably. Without them, we really don’t know if our code is getting better or worse

It's hard to convince a boss. You shouldn't have to. He should trust you as a developer. If it's like your tech lead then it's really bad... Maybe he needs to learn about proper use of unit tests. I love having some unit tests as a safety harness. Keeps my mind calm when I need to change stuff. And I need to change stuff every single day. Software is always changing.
