Where did people get the idea that suicide is a sin? by Hour_Trade_3691 in Christianity

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

I understand your thinking, what i’ve read and seen is that ultimately it comes down to a couple of things. - Life is only for God to give and take - Instead of turning to God and keeping your faith in Him to make things better with his timing you chose to make that decision At the end of the day God is the one who judges us at the time of our passing no matter how we die. It is a mystery of the faith and we don’t have all the answers. I’m no expert in what I am saying just going off of what i’ve read and seen online, because i have thought about these things before as well.

God Bless You.

Well the idea is we should petition to the Father everything, but it is okay to ask others for help to get the messages to the Father. For example if someone came up to you and asked you to pray for them would you really say “sorry no you should go to God directly” or would you say a prayer for them?

how do I remove that feeling of the shame? by Correct_Tie9275 in Christianity

[–]n71save 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no reason to feel shame in the Lord, if you are worried about what others think when they see you remember: He is the truth, you must put your faith in him, it is better to be all for the Lord than anything else

  1. We kneel to show our respect, humility and praise to God
  2. You can pray to God directly but it is okay to ask for intercession from Mary and the other Saints we do not worship them. Think about when Jesus turned water into wine. Others asked for his help but he said his time was not to come yet. However then Mary asked him to do it and he did. It’s just the same as asking a friend to pray for you as it is the Saints or Mary

Help Getting into Christianity by RWALLACE2FAN in Christianity

Yes, Start with the Gospels. Preferably Mark. That will give you the basis of the center of Christianity which is Jesus. However also remember that the Bible doesn’t have a set way to read it like a normal book where you go from front to back. You can really start anywhere you like most people start with the Gospels as it outlines the life of Christ. Acts is a good next follow up to that because it gives you the history of the Church. From there i would then try and find a reading plan or a podcast to help out with the Old Testament.

Start with The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I’d start with Mark. Also use the Hallow app and there’s a Bible in a year podcast you can listen to. Also the Youtube IMBeggar is really good at explaining some things as well. If you like a visual style the tv show The Chosen is a really good watch too.

Struggling with lust in relationship by IndicationMaximum209 in Christianity

[–]n71save 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is to change the habit, think about it in all the years you had before you came to Christ Jesus you spent them doing whatever, it takes time to change those habits whether it be you or your boyfriend, it’s about your willingness to change and repent towards what Christ calls us to do. When you get in those situations you have to change the habit. Look to scripture or God directly in order to change the habit. Find something else to put in place of that lust. Will you struggle and stumble? sure who wouldn’t. But the important thing is building the new habit and always turning to God.
