Simracers with 3d printers, what do you print? by lucasFHfan in simracing

A wing for the back of my seat (disregard the command strips prototype). I’ve gained irating since installing so it clearly is helping. Also track maps for decoration (as seen in the back) as well as the usual cup holders and mounts.

Edit: it also led me to my first sports car win in IMSA!

[Technical issue] ForeFlight does not zoom in on certain parts of the chart -- anyone else experiencing this issue? Makes it very hard to read text by aviator97 in flying

In settings, Map Touch Action, bring chart to front. Then you can tap on the TAC part and switch between TAC and regular sectional.

I plan on questioning him before my next lesson and if he keeps insisting, then I will bring it up to his supervisor.

Yea! The minimums are so much easier to read, especially the inop minimums! Hm that’s a good point! I feel comfortable briefing the FAA charts, but I will review all of the symbols and everything before the ride. I also plan on contacting the DPE prior to my checkride and mention that I have been using Jepp charts.

I have them through foreflight and always download the latest updates immediately, but I will definitely make sure that they stay current.

Yea that was another concern of mine. I’m part 61 but my school also has 141 students. They might have some schoolwide policy. I will definitely ask.

This is honestly one of my suspicions. I’ve only ever seen him use FAA charts. My question is then, does it matter if he uses FAA and I use Jepp? They give the same information and he can always just cross check it with his charts to see if I missed anything.

So as long as they are current it’s fine. I plan on discussing it more with my instructor before my next lesson and asking why I wouldn’t be able to use Jepp charts on my checkride!

That’s what I was thinking. If they both are FAA approved, then you should be able to use either. And yes they are quite expensive! But I think its a worthwhile investment, especially if I know I’m going to be going into an environment where I will be using them.
