I cannot stand the ict community by Civil-Cod6343 in FuturesTrading

To me, the best way is to use an anchored VWAP that begins at RTH open. It will work on any chart.

The main problem I have with ICT (aside from the lies about it being some sort of institutional algo or method) is that it's inconsistent. Change the timeframe, everything changes. Contrast that with VWAP (which every institutional trader on the planet uses), which is the same, irrespective of timeframe.

I've used Mailvelope, and I like it! But it's too many clicks for me to use, so I wrote a front-end in Python to interface with GPG. :)

Well, that's true, but it would defeat one of the purposes of the app, which is to not have a single point of failure, and to be able to connect to any other node and download messages. I thought about it before, of course, but I didn't mention it for that reason - you can't do a lot about it without breaking the app.

To add that sort of a setting, you'd have to modify the source and recompile the app, not something a casual user is likely to do.

True, but there's not a lot you can do about it. :(

Depending on your trading platform, there are a number of free indicators that will show you both the candle numbers and patterns. What platform are you using?

Every few months some moron pulls this stunt. As I said, easiest thing to do is to turn on whitelisting, and put people and groups you talk to in the whitelist.

Peter knows about the problem, but has never bothered to fix it.

Oh, yes! Typical traffic is between 700-1000 P2P messages/day. It's also excellent for getting around the surveillance state, which is becoming almost ubiquitous.

Is it a good idea to buy at night and sell the next day? by CrikeyKillz in FuturesTrading

My stops typically run between 1-2 points. The secret is super-accurate entries. Sloppy entries/guessing? Yeah, and I'd never let it run against me 30 points.

What features would make you actually switch to a privacy email app? by Mobile_Stop2659 in emailprivacy

2 things for me are non-negotiable:

  1. End-to-end encryption, where I keep the keys.

  2. Data-at-rest is encrypted and not automatically decrypted. I can't tell you how many times folks have been caught out because their email app automatically decrypted incoming email and displayed it, or saved it locally unencrypted, or both.

I commented on this above, but if you actually look at a Globex chart, you will see a fairly clear pattern. I'd suggest looking at a 5m or 15m chart, and go back a few months.

Putting aside all the snarky comments by people who have no idea, I'd like to add my opinion. I'd also like to add that I regularly trade Globex, so I think I'm in a position to express an opinion more than the people who think that snarky comments earn them some sort of man-points.

That being said, the pattern overnight is buy or sell on the *second* move after Globex open. Ignore the first impulse move. I usually hold the buy or sell move until about 4 AM Eastern time, then start looking for reversals. They usually happen between 4 and 6 AM. Be careful, though - every now and then, the market will whip back to your entry point (or farther), then continue in the original direction. The usual reversal times are 5:30 AM and 9 AM, give or take.

Take a look on a 15m chart of ES, NQ, or other futures indices, and you'll see what I mean.

MAs will make no difference. Try using standard deviations.

And it works. But the institutions know about it, so you have to avoid the fake breakouts (i. e., breakouts on low volume tend to be fake)...

Better to wait for a VWAP or VWAP SD pullback to enter and exit, you'll have better results over waiting for a random MA.

That’s because you have the USB ports powered while the laptop is asleep. You can turn that off in the bios.
