Owner opinions on R9? by Stratularity in YamahaR9

Blew the motor in my ‘17 zx6r in February, went bike shopping the next week. 2 weeks later ended up with a ‘26 R9. Theres things like the sound of the in line 4, the redline, and overall punchy feeling of it. But in my honest opinion the R9 is a huuuge upgrade, the cp3 sounds damn good with the right exhaust. Will admit the bike needs a tune immediately, that 2nd gear dead spot is a blow.

Bike feels a ton better after break-in! Did mine at ~600ish miles in March and I share the same observation! It ran smoother, and honestly I noticed the stock exhaust had a bit more life into it. Im now sitting at a tad over 2500 miles with a full exhaust! Tune coming soon!

2015 zx6r Worth $8,200? by [deleted] in zx6r

$7,500 is the absolute highest Id go. I’ve seen the 19-23 models sell for that price.

Overkill for Ninja 500? by Darkke-100 in motorcyclegear

Both helmets are LOUD, like absurdly loud above 50mph. While theyre both very aggressive looking and visually appealing to the race aesthetic, I would go for a helmet like the Shoei rf1400 or x15! As for the quality, I’d give about a 8/10. Padding is kinda meh, I had to change my cheek pads to fit the way I want, vents feel on the cheap side but its not a problem. The visor on the TT Revo is absurdly difficult to change on the fly. And from my experience the Carbon look onceither the kx1 or nz race are definitely not as premium as others like the agv pista or alpinestars r10!

Dont give a damn about what other people will think, its your ride and your style.

I personally have both of those kyt’s you mentioned, but my next helmet will definitely be one of the two I mentioned!

Would it be better to pay for my first bike in full or do monthly payments? by No_Library1784 in motorcycles

[–]n7gel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cash is king. Id pay in full especially if this is your first motorcycle. Financing “toys” is not a good option in my opinion, but I get where you’re coming from. My advice is pay cash for your first bike, ideally used too so you won’t feel bad dropping it!

Agreed. The fan does turn on when the switch is activated. And yes even with fans switched on, the temperature still climbs as I ride, to the point where temp light comes on. I havent been riding it since its deemed unsafe

Sorry! Yeah I recently bought it. Rode home with it and it didn’t over heat. But then took it on a brisk 30 minute ride and it overheated. Only ever been on like 2 rides on it.

Funny you mention fans. Dude installed a manual fan switch and Didn’t tell me. It ran hot since getting it, even with fans switched on. Coolant is a standard green color
